Year-end message

So the year has come to an end.. again!! How time flies!! 2010 has been a pretty awesome year. Wayne has grown up so much. Can you believe he is already 20 months old? Sometimes I watch him while he is asleep, and he looks like such a big boy. So long.. I mean he looks so tall. Hey, he is 83cm, that’s more than half my height. Hmm, but when he is standing, he barely looks a third my height – strange. But yes, he sure has grown. Little boy can call “mama” and “dad” now. Loves to call us. Sometimes when he is sleeping at night, he’d also call ”mama” out of the blue while still asleep – dreaming of precious mommy.

2011 is going to be yet another fantastic year – I hope!!

2 more days to count down to.

Already I have my 2011 new year resolutions:

1) Drink 4 cups of water a day. Why 4? Just seems more realistic than the 8 a day as recommended. Now I probably only drink a glass a day. I’m going to shrivel in 2011 before I know it.
2) Eat my supplements faithfully every day. Multi-vitamins, calcium, pine bark, lingzhi and collagen.
3) Face and eye masks 3 times a week.
4) Facials and hair treatments once a month.
5) Home cooked dinner once a week.
6) To the gym once a week at lunch.
7) Love love and love the people around me. I must make more effort in showing my love to the people I love so very much. Hugs, presents, birthday wishes for friends, surprises for loved ones and most importantly quality time.

My wish list for 2011?

A Greece holiday
Long awaited H-O-M-E
Didi or meimei for Wayne
A Polaroid camera
A Kate Spade iphone casing

Okay, #4 and #5 shouldn’t be in my wish list, I should just GO AND GET IT tomorrow. Wish lists are for more precious items.. not my shopping checklist.

2 more days and Happy New Year to everyone!

Wishing all of you a real awesome year ahead. A joyous, abundant and fulfilling 2011 to everyone!

Off to the Bird Park!

Hmm.. it was mommy's first time to the Bird Park and maybe my last? Okay, its not that bad.. maybe I'll return but 10 years later. Haha. Mommy just cant really appreciate the birdies... I mean they are all birds. Different species.. but all birds still. So during our trip there we saw birds, penguins (not 'birds'), eagles (different from 'birds') and more birds.

Mommy was initially quite excited at the thought of visiting Bird Park from the many banners along the roads in town advertising the "Penguin Wonderland" at the Bird Park.. but that was disappointing!!! The "Penguin Wonderland" was tiny and wasnt very interestingly designed either. 3 minutes and that was over. Disappointed.

We managed to catch one of the shows which was quite fun to watch. And oh yes, there was this parrot which could sing songs, that was quite impressive! Mommy had a good laugh hearing the parrot croon.

What was interesting though was the Lory (that's another Bird species) enclosure where we could feed the colorful birds nectar. The nectar was placed in a small cup and the birds would come upclose to drink. One Lory even pecked grandma's finger.

What made the trip more enjoyable & memorable was the rare visit from mommy's xiao-gu and cousin Jesslyn, who were here for a 5 day visit to Singapore! We hardly get a chance to meet up, once a year at most, at CNY or at weddings. So mommy was glad to have been able to spend some time with them plus allow Wayne to get to know them a bit better! By the end of the trip, Wayne was playing and smiling with 'gu-por' already. Here are some photos taken together!

Hawaiian themed xmas party! Yay!

It is mommy's yearly xmas party with the barbies and cabbages! The much looked forward to event of the year, as that is when almost the whole group of us will gather together no matter how busy we were! These days, its indeed really difficult to find a day where everyone is free to meet up! Mommy really treasures this group of friends who has gone through thick and thin with mommy!

And its always so much fun, you can imagine ten girls (supposed to be 11 - missing Jojo this year!!) getting together, its filled with lots of heee heee hahahahaha's and more! =p And the games that we play together, never fails to land mommy in stitches from all that laughing..

This year our Xmas party theme was "Sunny Hawaii!!". Even Wayne got to dress up all Hawaiian!!! We took so many photos together that night but here's just a few:

Cheers to mommy's ever pretty & 'bestest' friends!!!

Happy 20th month!

Wayne turns 20 months old today.

One month older...
One month smarter...
One month cuter...
One month cheekier...
One month sweeter...
One month more adorable...

You light up mommy & daddy's world with your sweet sweet smile.

Mommy & daddy loves you so very much.

Happy 20th month old, precious!

The zoo is fun!

This is Wayne’s third visit to the much loved zoo! It gets more and more fun as Wayne gets older as he can now recognize even more animals and can even imitate some of the animal actions!

We arrived at the zoo at 1130am, and was surprised that the queue was still very long although it was already close to mid day! Looks like everyone else wanted to sleep in a bit later just like mommy & daddy! The weather was perfect today, although we spent the afternoon at the zoo, it was cooling and breezy – really perfect!

The last time we came to the zoo, somehow we only saw a few animals.. was it 3??? Hehe, this time… we made up for it!! We saw lots and lots of animals and managed some pretty nice photos of them too!

Mommy likes this shot of the tiger leaping in the water - really nice!

The past times we went to the zoo somehow we never ended up in this area.. so this time, we decided we had to check this out!

Impressive water play area in the zoo!!

Fighting!

Majestic lion!!

Mommy is really a big fan of the zoo, not only is it fun to see so many different animals, it is also so educational! Just today, mommy learnt many new facts about the animals, some of which was so interesting!

We got this really close up shot of this cheetah, really beautiful!

Wayne did this when he saw the rhino!
And then finally, when we were tired from all the walking, we hopped onto the tram for a ride round the zoo, hoping to catch any animals that we missed out while walking! It was a pretty short ride though, realised the zoo wasn't as big as we thought! And with that, we ended our fun excursion today!

The outing that got mommy worried

Another fun Sunday where daddy went for football & mommy brought Wayne down the road to Polliwogs for some fun and morning breakfast. It always feels especially nice to wake up early and head to East Coast. And, if you've been to Polliwogs before, you'd know how crowded it usually is. Few times we've headed there and turned back as it was just too crowded. But on Sunday mornings, mommy & Wayne are usually one of the first to be there! That means having the whole playground to ourselves!

Well but after 30 minutes or so, the crowd started coming in, and that's when 'fun' kinda ended for little Wayne. He started feeling scared, and got all clingy to mommy. Which is the reason for this blog entry title. Cos Wayne seems to get increasingly timid and thats really worrying mommy.

You see, he was happily playing in his favourite pool of balls.. until this boy came along and dived in. Which resulted in Wayne scurrying over to mommy as quickly as he could.. and for the rest of the time the boy was inside the pool of balls, Wayne was relegated to standing outside watching him play - no matter how many times mommy encouraged him to make friends with the boy and play together.

And when the other areas of the playgroud got invaded by more and more kids, Wayne chose to play with stuff no kids liked to play with.. like this door lock.. ****sigh*** .

Is this the often mentioned "separation anxiety" phase? Perhaps.. but mommy does hope Wayne Wayne will grow out of this phase soon and not grow up being a timid boy. Wayne is afraid of so many things! Funniest was when we were at Paragon and there was a message through the intercom and Wayne burst out crying. Since then, he has been scared of microphones and all things related.

So you see this photo below.. *BIG achievement* cos Wayne went down the slide all by himself a few times!! All the past times Wayne went on a slide, we had to be by his side supporting him. But this round,*whee* Wayne went down himself and enjoyed it!! Okay, I know he looks terrified in this photo, but really, he had fun going down this slide!! =p

*Clap Clap*
