Four-in-one
When we tell friends or family that we live in an one bedroom apartment, it is often met with a shocked "Really?? How do you guys manage that?".
So in case you are wondering, this is how our cosy bedroom look like with Amanda adding on to our family now.
It is hard to believe how we, a family of four, can actually live in an one bedroom apartment, but yes we actually can!! And we are pretty happy here!!!
So in case you are wondering, this is how our cosy bedroom look like with Amanda adding on to our family now.
Yes, by morning, Wayne would have somehow, half asleep, wriggle down from his bed, lodge himself in between mommy and daddy and continue his good night of sleep. It happens every night without fail.

Waterplay
We are always thankful that Wayne is so doted on by our family. He never lacks love, attention and certainly presents from all around him.
And today is no exception, with yeye buying him yet another toy to play with. Wayne loved it, thanks yeye!

Tidmouth sheds
A piece of artwork that I have been promising Wayne for quite a while now - making this Tidmouth Sheds (from Thomas and Friends) using drawing block paper, a paper plate (as the turntable), some glue and tape. Mommy did most of it, with Wayne helping to spread glue, hold the paper down and stick tape here and there.
Something so simple but yet made Wayne so happy.
And daddy was happy too, as I just helped him save a few hundred of dollars.

Vomit
There is always a first to everything.. not anything blog worthy, but Wayne vomited for the first time today. Twice. The first smelled of bananas (he had that for snacks in school). And it made a grand 'entrance' all over daddy's work shirt and pants. And the second was about an hour and a half later after his light dinner.
Hmm.. can't help but recall the incident back in 2005 when daddy and mommy were dating and mommy had unglamorously vomited after half a glass of wine (*embarassed*). Daddy had to clean up the horrid smelling mess for me (sealing my love for him in the process - proof of love I say!).
Thankfully, the vomiting stopped after two rounds. We initially thought it was food poisoning (and was ready to call the school the next day!), but a check with Dr Irene ruled that out as she said food poisoning will probably see him puking more than twice. Possibly some infection, she told us. So we are still not sure what sparked off this round of vomiting, but whatever it was, I'm just glad that our little boy is back to his usual self. The night he vomited, he was so tired he fell into such deep sleep - made my heart skip a few beats when he didn't even stir despite me repeatedly shaking his body in an attempt to wake him up. And, the washing off the vomit on his and the husband's clothes was such a nightmare, not something I want to do in hopefully a long time.

"Wayne-only" day out
Dear Wayne,
It has been almost two month since Amanda has joined us. Initially, mommy worried a lot about how you would feel with the inevitable divided attention from mommy and daddy, whether you would be jealous of your mei mei and how you would react towards her. These worries were unfounded.
You have been the most amazing kor-kor. Mommy and daddy couldn't have asked for more and we can't be more proud of you than we already are. You have been loving Amanda so sweetly in your own ways. Mommy especially loves to hear you talk to her. You try to soothe mei mei when she cries, often mimicking mommy which is really so cute. Other times, you just go on and on talking to mei mei about anything and everything. Often, mommy would just quietly listen so that you would not stop.
Sure, some nights you have been more difficult than others.. whining that bit more, not following instructions, demanding mommy's attention immediately but these instances have been few and far between.
In fact, its mommy and daddy that needs to learn to cope better at times. Days when we are frustrated and stressed, who else bears the brunt of it than you.. with our harsher-than-should-be tone of voice and stern faces. Mommy and daddy needs to learn not to lose our cool so easily. Sorry, sweetie.
Although we have spent the past two months fussing and caring for mei mei, truth is mommy misses you a whole bunch. Mommy hates that you are left to the care of the iPad and your trains most of the time although I know you are not complaining, as you really do enjoy playing with your engines so much. You would make up stories about them as you play, sometimes saying the funniest things which would crack mommy and daddy up. Life would truly be such a yawn without you, our little precious son.
And because mommy so badly wanted to spend more time with you, this Sunday was special - it was a "Wayne-only" day out! Mommy and daddy brought you out without mei mei (thanks nai nai and ah por for looking after mei mei!), and gave you all our love and attention. We had your favorite spaghetti for lunch and spent the afternoon running around at an indoor playground. Mommy was very happy seeing you so happy. We will have more of such days, Wayne.
We love you so so dearly.
Love,
Mommy

See you in two months, yi yi!
At the airport to see Yiyi off as she goes for a two month canoe-polo-competition-cum-holiday in Europe.
"Good luck, bye bye, take care, be careful of the big bad wolf!" Wayne shouted to Yiyi as she went in the departure gates
We will miss you Yi-yi! Take good care!!!

Sharing of snacks
530pm is the unofficial snack time in school where the kids would munch on snacks they brought from home. I never realised there was this unofficial snack time until I picked Wayne up around that timing a few months back. The kids were all snacking on various food items such as tomatoes, cereal, bread, biscuits etc, what ever their mommies had prepared for them. Poor Wayne was just looking on, as this mommy, me, had not packed anything for him to eat *feeling super guilty (how was I to know?!!)*. Miceala then shared her breadsticks with Wayne and ever since that day, I always made sure I packed some food for Wayne in what we fondly refer to as his 'food treasure' now. It is actually just the front compartment of his school bag, but just so he knows that is where I keep his snacks.
Today as I picked Wayne up, again it was snack time, and again the kids who were without food were left looking on longingly at their friends who were happily eating away. Case in point this time were Raye and Felicia, who were secretly (or not so secretly) eyeing Wayne's biscuits. Wayne gave each of them one (yah just one) of his biscuits and told them "One is enough Raye. One is enough Felicia." Obviously one was not enough for them especially when they saw Wayne had more than ten in his ziplock bag. Of course, mommy being there encouraged Wayne to share further. And little Wayne did so.

Felicia reaching out for a biscuit.. at which Wayne promptly tried to safeguard his bag of biscuits
See how Raye looked so longingly at Wayne's biscuits
All happy now as they enjoyed the wholesome healthy yummy organic biscuits
Notice how the kids each have their own designated seats now (the seats were labelled with the kids' names). They didn't use to so I asked Miss Afiqah why the change. Miss Afiqah told me the kids liked to fight over the same seat. Wayne's seat was just beside Micaela's.
And some artwork done by Wayne which were hanging on the walls of his class:
(i) An arty drawing.. (no idea what this is but it had Wayne's name on it and for that reason alone, its awesome!)
(ii) A tomato

Fun day out!
"It is a 'Fun Day Out!' " San-yi always exclaims to Wayne, so much so that the other day momma used the same phrase on Wayne only to have him tell me "Momma, why you say the same thing as San yi?". (Ha.. okayyy, phrase belongs to San-yi only!).
Indeed it was a fun day out on the Hari Raya public holiday where favorite San-yi brought Wayne to East Coast for some cycling, together with Uncle Ken, grandpa, grandma and kor-kor Boon Kai. (Mommy, daddy and meimei missed out on this!).
Wayne must have had a ball of a time there as two weeks later when we drove pass the park (he saw the Long Beach signage and remembered that was where grandpa parked his car), Wayne commented "Momma, sometimes you also have to bring me to the beach, not always to the shopping centre only..".
How right, Wayne.
