Friday swimming treat

On a rare week where mommy worked from home, mommy had a chance to bring Wayne for an evening dip by the pool this lovely Friday. The weather was perfect for a swim, so with our swimsuits, towels, camera, bread and biscuits, mommy & Wayne had some fun time together getting ourselves wet.

Wayne laughing away by the pool..
Pouring water onto himself & finding that so amusing
So endearing
And then he decided to wash hair and poured the water over his head.. mommy half expected him to cry as the water got into his eyes..
but he cooly wiped the water away and gave mommy a big wide smile... 'wash hair' he repeated.
Looking all tall and grown up
shouting out to mommy to play with him..
'making milk'.. wayne loves to pretend play alot
measuring the water in the milk bottle.. just like how mommy & daddy always does... our little boy imitating us
pouring the water into the drain..
and deciding to do some real swimming!
absolutely happy
check out my little butt!!
And finally managed to persuade him out of the pool.. using some food!! Wayne hungry after swimming for half an hour! Looking so adorable in his towel...Happily enjoying his bread... until...
he decided to walk around the pool with his bread...
and thats when.... it dropped out of the plastic onto the floor!!!!! uh oh...............
no worries, mommy came well prepared with more food! Chocolate biscuits this time!!
And trying to hide his face with the hood...
And finally, a video of Wayne playing in the water =)

Mommy's always lamenting we dont bring Wayne often enough to the pool.. mommy wants him to grow up loving the water! Seeing how Wayne enjoyed his time today, I think mommy will need less persuasion to bring Wayne swimming in future!!!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Wishing Grandma all the happiness in the world. May Grandma stay youthful (at 58 years old!) and healthy always!!!

We love you Grandma,

HK, Ra and Wayne boy.

Grandpa.... "pom"!

Thats how Wayne describes what happened to Grandpa. Yep, grandpa did 'pom'. Grandpa was going to work early on 11 August and was walking to the carpark when he slipped, fell & broke his kneecap into two. Apparently, his laptop bag which was really heavy was the culprit. The laptop bag hit his knee and that's when grandpa felt that immense sharp pain. Ambulance was called and after transferring from NUH to Alexandra and again from Alexandra to SGH, finally grandpa was warded in SGH.

And the next day at around 830pm, grandpa had his operation to fix his knee. And after 3 days of rest in the hospital, Grandpa was finally ready to head back home on 16 August, his wifey's birthday!

On Day 2 before grandpa's operation. That's Wayne showing us that Grandpa's hand was painful as he saw the nurse inserting the needle into grandpa's hand.

On Day 3 - Grandpa looks visibly weaker and tired after his operation. This was the day grandpa was in most pain. Well, he said it was more painful than child birth.. not that he has experienced child birth. Just exaggerating as usual.

Wayne enjoying his food together with grandpa.
Putting on braces to keep grandpa's knee in place
Grandpa grimacing in pain
Much to Wayne's amusement.. who tried to imitate Grandpa's hilarious expression
Wayne and Grandma
Grandpa trying out some physiotherapy exercises
And, Wayne eating AGAIN with grandpa!
So Grandpa is back at home resting now, using crutches to move around. Get well soon Grandpa!

The great bed hunt

It has been a good few weekends spent looking for beds for Wayne. Never knew it would be so difficult deciding on a bed. Hmm.. from simple plain white beds, bunk beds, fanciful beds with slides, themed beds like fire engines, cars etc… we’ve probably seen them all. But yet.. we still haven’t seen that one bed that we could decide on & just get. I think it’s just mommy & daddy being really indecisive. As usual. =) So next week, we still plan to check out a few more places just to be sure. It’s going to be the last stop and we WILL decide. Enough of looking around though its actually quite fun.

Kids have so much fun especially with the themed beds and those with slides, even mommy would love such a bed. But daddy thinks kids will outgrow those beds very soon, say we get a fire engine bed, Wayne would probably outgrow that in a few years time. And we’d be stuck with that theme with limited options to re-design the room in other themes. But then again, how often would we bother to re-design his room right? Heh… anyway so far, Wayne have only shown interest in this bed which had trucks on the quilt. And it was more because of that particular truck on the quilt rather than the bed itself. He is so into trucks and trains now.

Here are some of the pretty beds we saw at Casa Kidi..

Hopefully we’ll get the bed settled soon, and the tough part of training him to sleep in his own bed in his own room all by himself will begin. Wish us luck, it’s going to be real tough. Confirm plus chop.

For those who didn’t know, we really have ourselves to blame for this situation we are in, where Wayne sleeps with us on our bed. Making our king size bed feel like a single size bed, with daddy usually being relegated all the way to the side with just one body width of space to sleep on. Turn a bit more and he’d probably fall off the bed. Mommy on the other hand usually ends up sleeping in some odd position waking up with backaches in the morning. As for Wayne, he is of course the king of the bed. Sometimes I find him at the bottom half of the bed in the morning, sometimes sleeping horizontally across the bed, feet on mommy’s face. Small as he may be, he never fails to take up at least half the bed space. So we have decided it’s now time mommy & daddy have our proper bed space. Yay!!!

But before that, like I said, wish us luck. Hopefully in one year’s time (I’m being very optimistic), I can blog that I’ve succeeded.

Wayne & Percy goes to the airport

Wayne and Percy. =)

I think Percy is fast becoming Wayne's favorite toy of the season. Not only did Wayne insist on bringing Percy to the airport for dinner with us, he also insisted on wearing GREEN to be in the same color as Percy. Thankfully we had this green T-shirt. =) Wayne looks so cute in these photos. Mommy likes how well he brings out the color of his t-shirt.

Wayne loves the carpets and wide open areas at the airport.. see how happily he ran while screaming in the video.. we had to constantly ask him to lower his volume lest he disturbed the other patrons at the cafe.

Weekend brunch @ Epicurious

Mommy & daddy have always had a soft spot for Robertson Quay. Love that area for its quietness and prettiness. And one of the things we look forward to each week is weekend brunch. Combine the two, and that makes mommy & daddy very happy. Perfect start to weekends.

We woke up early to head to Epicurious. Realise they have a branch at Rail Mall too, mom, dad and Elaine, you should try. Their egg benedicts are really good. Yummy. Daddy had that while mommy had their toasts dipped in steamed egg topped with cheese. It was ultra delicious.

And after having our tummies filled we strolled along the river, which Wayne enjoyed so much but which got him all sweaty as he ran instead of strolled.

Sigh, mommy is wishing one day our dreams of staying there would be fulfilled........ till then, we'll be contented with just brunches. =)

Loving the sun, loving the sea

Just another Sunday evening by the sea before dinner at one of the restaurants at East Coast... Casual & relaxed, just the way we like it.

Wayne looks so grown up here. He couldn't wait to lay his hands on the sand to 'dig dig dig' once we got to the beach. The thing mommy loves about him, as much as he wanted to dig, when mommy explained not this time as we didnt come prepared, he insisted for just a short while and then went off to run along the pathway instead. Not giving us a hard time at all. Thanks baby.
Footprints.... love the way he says that...
Happily running so far off.. mommy couldnt catch up with him. He runs so fast now, I bet daddy felt breathless keeping up with him after a while.
Mommy loves spending time with Wayne.. always indulging the little one in funny things he likes to do.. like having mommy on the footprint with him. Love his expression in this photo.
And insisting mommy squat with him with two fingers on the ground... just two.. I placed three fingers on the ground for better support & Wayne said "wrong". It has to be just two fingers. He is particular that way.
Love you my little boy!
