Thanks everyone who celebrated Wayne's birthday with us

We had a pretty special Sunday afternoon today, celebrating our little Wayne's first birthday! The party was held at the function room where we are staying, and we had our family, relatives and close friends over . Everything went really well and mommy has so much to blog about the party - the cute birthday cake, the guests, the food, party bags, decorations and so many more - but I'll leave that to another time oki?

As I sit here after a long day, mommy can only feel contentment and happiness. My little Wayne is turning one year on the 20th and we had a fantastic party for him today, mommy hopes when you are older and look back at the photos, you'd know what a wonderful party you had. More than anything, you'd realise how loved you are by all the people in our lives.

Thank you everyone, who came, who helped, who played a part in making this a special party not only for Wayne, but also for me and HK. We hope you enjoyed the party as much as we had. Love you guys.

Lots of food to fatten Wayne up!

Wow look at the amount of food mommy has stocked up for you little Wayne!

Its really fun cooking for Wayne, and mommy must say, mommy has been a bit slack the past few weeks when it comes to preparing nutrituous food for Wayne. So from last weekend, mommy made it a point to put in that extra effort in ensuring that Wayne gets healthy yummy food all the time! So on Saturday last week, mommy bought some salmon, chicken, carrots & potatoes for the weekend. Mixed them all together and Wayne loved it! Steamed & freezed them - good for 4 meals. Yummmy yummy. And for fruits, mommy got some sweet juicy nectarines!

And yesterday, after work, mommy dropped by the organic store and got lots of stuff! Ended up getting their membership too! Bought 3 boxes of cereals, some ready mixes for when we are outside, a packet of healthy brown rice to make porridge, zucchini, brocollis and pumpkin. Good to last till the weekend. Instead of always allowing Wayne to snack on biscuits to occupy him, mommy is trying to give him fruits instead! Healthier, more nutrituous and yummy too! And yes, mommy realised we are always giving the same kind of food afetr a while, its always fish, apples, papaya, chicken.. Mommy is trying to add more variety! Starting with the zucchini! Haha.. Never even heard of it before this!!!

Brown rice to make porridge
Pumpkin , brocollis and zucchini to mix with the brown rice porridge
And this is what you get.. ugly but healthy yummy food! Doesnt look appetising right? But Wayne boy finished up every bit of it, making mommy's day! =D

Vrrooom........ I love driving!

Vroom vroom... Lately, Wayne has been pretty obsessed with "driving'!

Daddy has been letting Wayne sit on his lap at the front seat of the car and 'drive' - changing gears included! Mommy will go "Wayne, driving!" and he'd hold on to the steering wheel and turn it, and when mommy goes "Wayne, change gear!" he'd reach down and hold the gear and shake it a couple of times! And mommy would just keep alternating between those two phrases .. Hehe..

Just like his daddy, maybe wayne will grow up loving cars. Then daddy and wayne wayne can go to different car showrooms each week and test drive different cars - daddy's favourite activity! Then what would mommy be doing then?? Hmm.. Mommy must cultivate some interest in cars then!!! =p

The bad part is that each time we decide its time to get out of the car and stop 'driving', Wayne Wayne would cry! But just for a while, cos our little boy is so easily distracted. =) I think Wayne would love the pressie grandpa and grandma's getting him for his birthday!!!!

I can unlock mommy's iphone!

Its amazing how quickly kids pick up things. A few times seeing how mommy unlocks the iphone, baby Wayne can now do so too! AMAZING. Wayne really has a thing for phones and remote controls. Sometimes, when mommy wants to sleep that extra few minutes, mommy will just throw my iphone to Wayne and there, I'll get my few more minutes of sleep while little Wayne plays away.. hehe.. precious!!

Handsome, after Wayne’s very first haircut

Wayne’s first haircut experience turned out much better than mommy & daddy expected. Thanks to the Mickey Mouse cartoon which was showing on the small television in front of every haircut seat! It got Wayne’s eyes glued to it that he didn’t even struggle when the Auntie cut his hair! Amazing! Given how he is like a worm most days, can’t sit still, much less sit still while letting some stranger touch his crowning glory. Mommy & daddy were half expecting the experience to be a nightmare to be honest, we even thought we may not succeed in getting his hair cut at all. Hehe, so we are extremely proud of you little Wayne!

Wayne looks much better now after his haircut, not so messy! His fringe was getting too long, almost touching his eyes. You know, this is the first time he is cutting his hair since birth. Other than that small snip during his full month, which doesn’t really count as a haircut. Just for the record, he got his haircut today at Junior League at Parkway Parade for $20. $20 for a few snips here and there, and all in 3 minutes? Expensive! I think I can manage trimming his hair myself the next time! Hehe, I will need a bowl though.

Totally engrossed with the Mickey Mouse cartoon playing in front of him

Handsome now, looking good just in time for his birthday party in two weeks! Yay!!

Mommy's boy...

My baby is turning one year old in less than 3 weeks. One whole year that Wayne has been with mommy & daddy. Its really fast.. the rate Wayne is growing up. Can hardly believe that a year has passed since I gave birth to my little darling. Can't help but feel a little emotional here.. heh. Mommy knows you'd have to grow up sooner or later but it just seems so... FAST. Soon you'd be all independent, ready to explore the world yourself, reaching that age where its *embarrassing* being seen going out with mommy.

Thats the thing with boys right.. once they reach their teenage years, they wanna be all cool and secretive and keep everything to themselves. I guess thats part of growing up... 12 more years to go for little Wayne? Or maybe earlier, given how kids are growing up faster and faster these days. Gotta prepare myself for that..

Okay okay, mommy promises not to baby you FOREVER. Just till you are twelve, and you'd be free. But for now, just let mommy kiss you all over and cuddle you as often as I want to, okay? Love you darling!

Mommy's boy.. *just for now*

Thats why I need a baby girl next, you know. Girls dont do that to their mommies. They stick to their mommies till they are old. Please, please, please, please.... *fingers crossed*.

"How old are you?"

Ask Wayne "How old are you?" and he'd answer you "One" by lifting up one finger!

Mommy got back and daddy showed me your new tricks! "How old are you?" and "Pat pat". 'Pat pat' came about when Wayne was sick and coughing. When he coughed grandma would 'pat pat' his chest, and so now when we say "pat pat", wayne would pat his own chest. Cute cute cute!

Ohh, one more!! Peek-a-boo!! and Wayne will cover his eyes and peek-a-boo at you!
Some photos taken at the airport
Peek-a-boo!!!!!
Wayne learning to drink from a straw
Cheeky Wayne clapping his hands
Naughty Wayne loves doing this
and this..

Naughty Wayne trying to pull his sleeves out
..keeps trying...
AND trying.....

A happy weekend

Mommy had a pretty good weekend, mommy feels very happy to be home and to be able to spend time with Wayne Wayne, daddy and family. On Saturday, we spent the day at Grandma's home, visited Da-yi's new home and went for a nice Taiwan porridge dinner! And on Sunday, we went house viewing in the morning and then for late brekkie at Mac's and then to Chatterbox for chicken rice to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. And thats not all, at night we also went to Changi Airport for dinner and some shopping! Hehe, mommy had a $50 voucher to use there, so mommy and daddy each got a new fragrance, a small little treat for us!

As for little Wayne, a trip to the airport meant a ride again on 'push push' (in his baby language!). 'Push push' is actually referring to the luggage trolleys in the airport. Last Sunday, when we were at the airport to send mommy off to NL, Wayne sat on the trolley and he loved it! So now whenever he sees the trolley, he'd get all excited and happy! As daddy & mommy pushed him around the airport, he kept laughing away happily! Like mommy & daddy, I think Wayne will grow up loving the airport!

Its going to be a long week at work the coming week, mommy is going to be really busy again. But mommy is keeping my fingers crossed this Wednesday, daddy would be able to take leave. There are so many things mommy wants to do this Wednesday!
