Good kor kor

A soft touch by Uncle KC.

Yes, we believe Wayne will be a good kor kor to little Amanda too! Thanks Uncle KC.

Favorite lesson of the day

And that has to be gym time!!! I picked Wayne early one evening, just before they went for gym class. When Miss Afiqah declared that it was gym time, all the kids went screaming in excitement!!! Including Wayne!! He asked mommy if he could go to the gym first before going home, and since we were not rushing anywhere, mommy said okie and mommy was glad I did, cos watching the kids enjoy themselves at gym made me happy too.

The kids were really adorable. They were so amused by my big tummy, one by one each of them came up to me and said "woowwww your tummy is so big", stroking my tummy. You could differentiate the only childs from those with siblings by their "You eat a lot of food?" as compared to the experienced older brothers or sisters "Baby!!!"as they touched my belly.

As his friends gathered around me, I overheard Wayne telling Miss Afiqah "I like my classmates to play with my momma". Brought a smile to my face.

I took many videos of Wayne playing in the gym, each time I replayed them, it really made me laugh. I wanted to share them but somehow Blogger is not allowing that, so I'll have to make do with these photos.

"Choo choo-ing" to the gym. Wayne wanted me to do the same, I had to explain to him I didn't have to.

Passing by the board outside his classroom frequently updated with the kids (Wayne, will correct me and say 'not kids' momma - 'champs'), oki, champs' art work.

Wayne's artwork, which he proudly showed me, and asked me to take a photo of him

Gym time! That's Wayne, in between Conrad (ahem ahem) and bestie Micaela. He was fast, agile, and full of energy.
 Clapping his hands! Happy!

Bully caught in action... Haha. Kidding (in case his mom ever stumbles upon this). Now we know where Wayne picked up that shooting habit which we are trying so hard to rid.

Ohh, as I took photos and videos of my little boy, Wayne kept telling me "Momma, please take photos of Micaela too.. "

I think my boy really likes her. =)

Daddy's the best

Wayne's hero, Wayne's role model.

Happy 4th Father's Day, daddy! Wayne loves you a lot!! No one can ever replace daddy's special place in Wayne's heart. You are the best and Wayne wants you to know it. Thank you daddy for all your love and sacrifices.

"My Birthday Place"

Wayne had his 2nd birthday celebration at this cafe (Em by the River) more than a year back.. When we came back here for brunch recently, Wayne immediately told us "My Birthday Place" as we stepped into the cafe. Daddy & mommy as usual were amazed at his memory. It has been 14 months ago and he was just two then!!

Lots of photos of Wayne and mommy!

Sharing an English breakfast set, all Wayne's favorite food : eggs, beans, mushrooms, sausages and bread. He eats as much as preggie mommy!

Daddy's most frequently ordered breakfast set - eggs benedict

Our favorite boy!

Fireman fantasies I

Thanks San-yi for this fireman suit which Wayne loves! It comes complete with a fireman suit, hat, water hose and fire extinguisher. Together with the fire engine which grandma bought, Wayne is all ready to fight the fire!

Wayne is really into fire engines at this age of 3 and loves pretending to be a fireman. Now he can do so, complete with a fireman outfit!! Yay!!!

Everyday when daddy bathes Wayne, they would both pretend to fight the fire using the shower hose. Wayne absolutely loves that. And he got this fire fighting fantasy from his favorite Thomas & Friends videos, scenes where Belle and Flynn bravely fights the fire.

Talking nicely vs scolding

Our conversation last night before bedtime..

Wayne: Mommy, my classmate Benjamin steal my shower bag today. So I snatch my shower bag and scold Benjamin fiercely "No taking my shower bag Benjamin" *says in a fierce tone*.

Mommy: Wayne, you shouldn't scold your friend & talk so fiercely.

Wayne: Mommy, please go to school to scold Benjamin cos he take my shower bag.

Mommy: Okay Wayne, mommy will go to school but mommy will tell Benjamin nicely that he shouldn't take other people's shower bag. Mommy will not scold him. Its not good to scold other people and talk fiercely oki Wayne?

Wayne: *pause* But mommy also scold Wayne and talk fiercely to Wayne when Wayne do wrong things. Why momma? Momma never talk nicely to Wayne?

Mommy : *stunned*

Someone please help me answer my three year old boy?

Cheetah boy

Spots all over his body since Tuesday, hence, his nick 'Cheetah boy' which he proudly told the nurses and Dr Irene when we brought him back to her clinic to get this checked out.

Today is Friday and it has since subsided. Wayne is just a step away from being fully recovered, with just a slight cough left. Phew.

Ironically, now that I could finally have my uninterrupted sleep, not having to wake up in the middle of the night to sponge him, I am having trouble sleeping.

Overseas trip = presents!

One of the rare occasions where daddy has to travel for work.

Daddy went to Bangkok for three days last week. So wished we could have tagged along. Though it was only three days that daddy was overseas, it did feel quite weird. Perhaps it is because daddy is never NOT around us. And yes, we did miss daddy during those days!

Mommy spent good time with Wayne while daddy was away, we went for nice dinners together after picking Wayne from school, we chatted with each other, we slept early and we even managed to squeeze in an art and craft session one of the nights so that we could surprise daddy with a little present made by Wayne!
Daddy's present in the making

And ta-dah, a little dragon, painted by Wayne! We left this together with a handwritten note by Wayne on the kitchen table to surprise daddy when he arrived home, past midnight.

And, Wayne even had a special PJ set with the words "I love DAD" to welcome dad home. Haha.

And in return, Wayne was super duper happy as daddy came home with many toys for him! Mommy is amazed daddy managed to buy so many things for mommy, Wayne and baby girl in that short 3 days he was there, in between his conference, company dinner, massages etc. Thanks daddy.

Wayne & baby girl had some new clothes from Jim Thompson, a popular Thai brand

But this was really the highlight. Wayne absolutely loves 'The Better Toy Store' at Takashimaya which has lots of toys from this brand called "Plan Toys" which is from Thailand, yippee!!! So Daddy made a trip to the headquarters in Bangkok and came back with three boxes of toys for Wayne!

Wayne was so delighted when he saw them, i think his love for daddy must have multiplied a million times.

Thanks daddy for hand carrying these rather large boxes all the way back!!

Pediatrician visit

Our little boy amuses me. At times, he is a complete angel when he visits his doctor and sometimes, he decides to throw huge tantrums. Today, thankfully, he was in a super good mood. It was quite entertaining actually. When it was his turn to go in to the room, he strolled in, with only a "Hold my hand, momma". And then he said "Hello doctor.. please don't check my eyes today." Dr Irene & the nurses started to laugh. "Okay, I won't check your eyes today" Dr Irene replied. And throughout the check up he just let Dr Irene do what she needed to, constantly bombarding her with his many questions.

"Doctor, what is this?" "Doctor, why use this?" "Doctor, how come this is like this?" and on and on and on he went.

Funniest part was when the nurse was writing down some notes in his medical records, Wayne told her "Please write my new name, Bam Bam boy". Nurse laughed and asked if he was not called Wayne. Wayne replied "Thats my old name. New name is bam bam boy." And, continued telling her and Dr Irene that mei-mei's new name is "Bu Pi". They were so amused with him. Nurse then asked him how to spell his new name, Wayne replied "I don't know. But still can write. Just write....".

You see, lately Wayne has been giving us all new names.. he calls daddy "kakaka man", mommy "bubu momma", he is "bam bam boy" and mei mei is "bu pi".

Anyway, he is known as the drama king in the clinic, so the nurses were all teasing him today that he is no longer a drama king.

Monday blues cheer!

Wayne loves doing this & finds it so amusing!

(for the record, he is still sick, this was taken a couple of days ago but mommy just loves his smile & had to post this)

Sick.. yet again

It has been exactly three months since Wayne started school and we have lost track of the number of times he has fallen ill since. He must have taken bottles of cough and flu medication. Sigh.

This time round, again it started with the flu and cough earlier this week and finally the fever too, on Friday evening. Wayne's temperature went up to a high of 39.2 degrees, and over the 2 and a half days, we've controlled it with doses of paracetemol and nurofen. Though today he is much better, I think we'll bring him to the doctors tomorrow, in case it is an infection requiring more attention.

Good thing that his fever came on Friday night, so we could look after him over the weekend, not having to work the next day. The past two nights with him sick have basically meant hardly any sleep for mommy and daddy. Mommy would set my alarm to ring every hour just so I could check on him and ensure that his temperature had not soared to worrying levels. Last night, daddy and mommy spent about an hour sponging him, as his fever had risen to high 38s almost reaching 39, while it was another hour before he could take his next dose of medication. Heh, it wasn't too bad, Wayne and mommy ended up having some snacks (we were both hungry!) and took turns telling each other bedtime stories, although it was 2am!

That's one thing good about our little boy, he generally doesn't fuss too much even when he is sick and all uncomfortable (except when its time to put on his fever patch!) He still loves to talk even when sick, and would go on and on about Thomas & Friends or his school friends. All while cuddling mommy.

Get well soon, darling!

Happy 34th Birthday, Daddy Dearest

To the special man in our lives "HAPPY 34th BIRTHDAY!"

It was an occasion of multiple celebrations - with the wife, with the wife and son, and with two sides of the family. Lots of birthday songs to sing and lots of cake to eat! I suspect Wayne was happiest. =)

Birthday breakfast at the 'quite newly opened' Tiong Bahru Bakery, great for bread lovers - ME!

Birthday dinner at Takashimaya with HK's side of the family, heh Wayne is STILL smiling that funny smile after so long

Family photo (missing Jen!) and the yummy chocolate birthday cake. As the birthday boy would put it, "nothing matters more than family"

Birthday lunch at Balzac with mommy's side of the family, French cuisine

Wayne sang, Wayne blew & Wayne did the cutting!

Present time!

And the night spent at USS - we had pizza for dinner and had planned to catch the firework show but alas, little boy started screaming once the firework show started .... sighhhh.... our little monster-at-home, scaredy-cat-outside.

And lastly, birthday lunch at Tatsuya with just the wife

In the birthday boy's words: "One year older, none the wiser".

Thanks everyone for organizing the birthday celebrations, the cakes, presents and all the love!
Till the next year!
