Little terror

Little Wayne has been up to lots of mischief lately.. our little baby.. angel in mommy's eye but a terror in reality.

Just today, Wayne tugged at a bathroom tile and it fell off the wall breaking into pieces.. leaving a hole in grandma's bathroom wall. Sigh, dont ask me why the tile could fall off.. but it did. Sorry grandma!!!!!! Thank goodness Wayne was not injured.. but now, mommy & daddy has the headache of finding a similar tile to fill that hole. Wayne Wayne ah...........................

Wayne Wayne also broke the air conditoner remote holder which was attached to the side bed frame in fei yiyi's toom. Minor. Phew. But still, spoilt. And, not to mention, he broke his plastic bowl today too. After throwing it on the floor. Sigh. Little terror.

Apart from throwing things on the floor, Wayne has also been screaming and crying whenever he doesnt get what he wants. Throwing tantrums. Each time he throws something on the floor and we tell him not to, he'd want to repeat it a few more times on purpose. How do you discipline a 17 month old kid? Little terror, little terror... how can mommy teach you what's right and wrong to do?

Little Wayne Wayne, can you please be a very good boy for mommy & daddy? No more throwing of things on the floor, no more crying and screaming k??
Daddy says he is going to send you to reformative school very soon if you dont behave. =p

The pre-school search starts again..

Sometime in May this year, mommy started surfing the net on pre-schools and made a few calls to enquire about the curriculum, rates and all.. after having a shock on how expensive some of them were, mommy's search kinda stopped there.

Well, today, finally after months of procastination, we finally made some progress. We - mommy, daddy & Wayne - visited one of the pre-schools we were interested in, Mindchamps @ Changi Business Park. Although still put off by the exorbitant rates, we were really interested in their curriculum after having heard so much good reviews about them. And yes, mommy must say, they were really quite impressive. Apart from the many activities planned out for the kids every day, which sounded really fun, the environment seems very nice too. Well, mommy can imagine Wayne spending the whole day there and liking it.

And from the moment we arrived, Wayne seemed to feel really comfortable there. Well, he didnt stick to mommy like a leech like he sometimes does when he is feeling scared or uncomfortable in a new place. Instead the moment mommy put him down, he was off exploring the place, playing with the toys in the room, walking off by himself.

So thats a good sign.

But still, we are undecided.. its the darn expensive rates la.. so the plan is to look at a few others and compare them to Mindchamps before deciding. Hopefully in time to start him in Jan 2011?

Hello Gymbo!

Hello Gymbo, Hello Wayne!! This was the opening song we used to sing when we attended the Play & Learn class at Gymboree months back and it has stuck to us since.

Once again, we were back at Gymboree for some fun and exercise!! And this time, Wayne sure had lots of fun!! For one hour non-stop, Wayne was running all around the place. Up and down he went, climbing on the padded gym structures, picking up balls, throwing them.. occassionally falling down, but because almost the whole area was padded, he quickly picked himself up again and continued to 'chiong'! Boy, was mommy exhausted just chasing after him!

His favourite was chasing after this giant ball! This got him going really crazy, laughing and laughing and laughing as he ran after this giant ball, with mommy hiding behind it! He was really cute to watch..

Wayne also loved playing basketball! Not sure if he has any talent there.. haha.. but anyway, I think all kids just loves balls!! He spent most of his time picking up balls and throwing them around!

But when it came to slides, little Wayne didnt seem to fancy it much! Scared perhaps? Hehe, not surprising! But it still was loads of fun!!!

It was hilarious because after all that running around, he got so exhausted that he just 'collapsed' on the floor, in the back up 'sleeping' position with his face on the floor. EXHAUSTED. Hahahhaa... but still with a big smile on his face!!!

Playground fun

Whee.... under the hot hot sun this afternoon, Wayne had an unexpected 'ride' at the playground at CHC. Although just for about 10 minutes (we had more important things to attend to today.. wink wink.. secret for now, hehe- yappies would know =p), Wayne sure enjoyed himself.

Its been a while since we brought Wayne to the playground, the last time we brought him, our timid little boy didnt dare try any of the rides at the playground. Slide - scared. See saw - scared. Animal bouncing rides - scared. This time, Wayne was loads better. See how he was 'relaxing' on the seat, hands on the rail and legs dangling.

He's READY for some serious playground action! (fei yi.. where are you??????)

Late nights at work

Its that time of the year again when mommy's workload increases twofold... while in the past, mommy didn't quite mind putting in those extra hours to get the work done, this year it really seems quite unbearable.. and its only the first two weeks of this tough busy period at work. Another month and a half at least before its over.. mommy cant help but wonder how I'm going to get through without giving up, without compromising on the quality of my work, without feeling really unhappy & without missing Wayne Wayne like crazy.

Everyday mommy tells myself to focus and bear with it. Just this week, out of 5 days, mommy only got to see Wayne at night on Tuesday. The rest of the nights, mommy was slogging in office & by the time I was home, Wayne was sleeping or just about to sleep . Worth it? I dont know. Its a constant debate within myself. I just try to juggle motherhood and work the best I can.

Meanwhile, on bad nights, I'll have to be contented with snapping photos of Wayne while he is asleep. Love you darling.

Happy 2nd birthday Kendrick!

Happy 2nd Birthday Kendrick!!

We had a small birthday celebration for cheeky little Kendrick who turned 2 years old on 12 Sep! Mommy brought Wayne to Aunty Pearly's house where there were many many noisy aunties all gathered there to celebrate Kendrick's birthday - Aunty Pauline, Christina, Justine, Serene, Ruilian, Siew Ping and of course Aunty Pearly & Uncle David.

As usual, the aunties would be asking Wayne who is the prettiest aunty.. and this time, Wayne Wayne pointed to Aunty Pauline!!!!
The Birthday Boy!

Mommy loves this photo!! Look at Wayne's expression! hee..

There were lots of yummy food prepared and of course the ice cream birthday cake too! As for Wayne, he had a real blast with Kendrick kor-kor's MANY MANY toys!! Wayne's favourite was the big big train set complete with tracks and all as well as the Lego farm house with many many animals - goats, cows, pigs, chicken and many others. Oh, how can i forget the many balloons decorating the house too!!!

Mommy had so much fun with the aunties that mommy stayed past Wayne's bedtime and ooops guess what happened?? At around 10pm, my tired little Wayne was a bit 'stoned' already and he started to try and carry his diaper bag which was at the living room and point towards the door!! Telling mommy its time to go home!!!! And when I asked him if he wants to go home and sleep, he kept nodding his head!! Hehe, so mommy got chased home by Wayne Wayne!!!

Thanks to the public holiday today, we had a long weekend packed with fun, starting with some fun swimming at 930am in the morning!! When mommy & daddy started getting ready Wayne's turtle float, towels and all, little Wayne started to get excited & by the time, we were downstairs walking to the pool, Wayne was chuckling away, obviously very happy to be heading to the swimming pool!

Wayne's first attempt feeding himself

At 16 months we decided perhaps Wayne could handle eating his little purple potato bun himself.. Which resulted in this... smashed up purple potato all over his high chair tray.. haha.. Mommy should have known better!!!

Armed with his 'masak masak' spoon, Wayne successfully made a real mess of his food, having much fun in the process I am sure!

Little harm done, so mommy should let Wayne 'explore'..... thats the western way of bringing up a kid isnt it? (as long as daddy's the one cleaning up! =p). Shall we try that with your porridge & pasta next????

A good brekkie to start the day!

One of the things mommy looks forward to most during weekends are our leisurely family breakfasts, where mommy & daddy would bring Wayne out for breakfast and spend the morning enjoying our coffee. Sometimes relaxing, at times stressful, all very much dependent on our little Wayne's performance for that morning. Be it Cafe Cartel, Macs, Coffee Club, Swensens, YY Kopitiam.. mommy enjoys them all.

This Sunday, fortunately for mommy & daddy, Wayne decided to be a real good boy, allowing mommy & daddy to savour our american breakfast set at Coffee Club @ T3 of our airport. Love the mushrooms! The rather empty airport in the morning, as well as the carpeted open space just beside the cafe where Wayne could walk around himself, yet remain close to us, was a big plus point.

Loving the open space!
Mommy I'm coming!!!
Wayne really amused us.. each time he walked under a railing, he'd stop and bend his head down as though he'd knock his head if he didn't! Was real funny to watch, cos he'd slow down every single time he came to a railing!
Oopps, walked too fast!
Tipping the scale at10.5 kg!

Small little sticky yummy bear

1) Daddy puts his hand on mommy's lap while watching TV. Wayne quickly walks over and pushes daddy's hand away.

2) Mommy leans on daddy's shoulder while watching TV. Wayne quickly walks over and pulls mommy away asking mommy to sit on the other end of the couch.

3) Daddy lies beside mommy on the bed, hugging mommy. Wayne quickly walks over and points to the other pillow at the other end of the bed, asking daddy to lie there instead.

If all fails, Wayne would quickly squeeze in between mommy & daddy and plant himself there.

Like most other kids at 16 months old, our little Wayne is going through the jealousy phase, where daddy & mommy is his & his alone. Especially his mommy!!! Mommy can only love Wayne Wayne, and no one else, not even daddy! And same for daddy, daddy can only love Wayne Wayne!!

Hehe, mommy hears from grandma that mommy was exactly like that too when mommy was a baby! No guessing where Wayne inherited this trait. In fact, daddy's nickname for mommy when we were dating was 'sticky yummy bear' cos mommy could be with daddy 24 hours a day and still want more. oops... =p

As Wayne grows older, he is getting really sticky to mommy! Mommy knows its normal for kids to be more attached to their mommies, but for Wayne.. its to the extent that when we are at home (daddy, mommy & wayne), mommy cant even go 'out of sight' for a few seconds without Wayne starting to cry. Mommy cant even go to the toilet for a few minutes! When mommy is bathing, mommy would be able to hear Wayne crying and banging on the bathroom door, waiting for me to come out! So its really quite tiring for mommy cos mommy has to do everything for Wayne when we are at home.. like bathing, changing, feeding etc.. so that leaves daddy a little upset at times when Wayne would be crying for mommy while daddy tries to bathe him or distract him. But of course when mommy is not around, Wayne Wayne would still be sticky to daddy.

Daddy, dont be sad, oki? Mommy read that when Wayne is older (like 3 to 4 years) he'd be all yours!!!! And, my, thats only 2 years from now. Mommy has got to be prepared for that day!!!!!
