Smart aleck Wayne

It was Wayne's first lesson at a Speech & Drama class and in the ten minutes that I was in the class with him, I had a really good laugh. Wayne was one of the 3 new students in the class, out of a total of six that day.

At the start of the class, the teacher went round singing a song which ended with the question "What is your name?". The students were to individually answer in full sentences "My name is xx" when the teacher pointed her magic rose wand at them. So, she went round the class and the students took their turns to tell their names in nice full sentences. When it was Wayne's turn, guess what my little boy answered?

"Today is my first time here, so I don't need to answer".

Sigh!

Diary of Wayne's bean plant

Wayne brought this plant home from school yesterday. For the past two weeks, he has been telling me about his little bean plant in school, and how he planted it with the help of his teachers. He was very proud of his plant and his upcoming excursion to a farm in two weeks time will be a really good complement to all his learning about seedling, growing and harvesting this school term!

Mommy really enjoys looking at all his work and pictures in school! Wish we had more of these!

Cable car

With two young kids, one of the things we see ourselves doing a lot is....  visiting touristy places. And I've come to realize it's really expensive! But.... what else to do in Singapore, right? We want to let the kids experience new things each week, and what better place than exploring the tourists attractions - the zoo, the aquariums, parks.. and today, the cable car. =)  Which turned out to be a rather pleasant experience, certainly more fun than I thought it would be! I attribute it to the company, the four of us were simply in the best of moods that morning. =) Wayne especially loved the ride, which made us happy. And with Amanda growing up so quickly, these outings are proving increasingly enjoyable!

The ride was just a short ten to fifteen minutes each way, and with us perched high up, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the harbour and Sentosa Island. Though I would have loved to have some air conditioning in the cable car, the view made up for it. Wayne in particular enjoyed screaming 'whoa' each time the cable car went through a bumpy ride, and happily waved to the passengers going in the other direction (though no one bothered to wave back! *snorts* haha). It was fun just watching Wayne laugh and enjoy this new experience.

We took a short break for lunch at Imbiah Point, Sentosa, and had a good view of the Merlion, before heading back. It was a fun packed day, we only had the morning for this outing, having to attend a birthday party in the afternoon, but it was sufficient.

P/s This brought back much memories of our honeymoon in Canada, where we took the Banff Gondola up to Sulphur Mountain to this awesome sight.

Amazing view, right? We really felt like we were on top of the world. Five years back, but the memories are still so vivid. It was really an out of the world holiday - how I yearn to be back!!!!

Hello Kitty & Friends

240ml + one slice

This morning I was preparing Amanda's breakfast of 240ml of milk and a slice of bread. Fifteen minutes later, when Wayne woke up too, I found myself preparing the same 240ml of milk and a slice of bread for him.

I was amused by this simple realisation. 3 years apart but they were taking the same amount for breakfast. Explains their sizes.
