Happy first birthday cousin Natalie!

Baby Natalie turns a year old!

It was one of the nicest birthday parties mommy has attended, the venue was huge, the food was very yummy (satay and scallops and lots more), there was coffee and tea, a bouncing castle, magic show, balloon sculpting and lots and lots of pretty balloons all over!

Wayne loved the helium balloons as well
Lifting the balloons high up in the air.. Wayne must be feeling really strong lifting them so high up and not feeling the weight!

Happy birthday Natalie!!!

Wayne misses san-yi

This morning, Wayne woke up and didn't want to leave home with mommy & daddy which was very rare as he normally would jump at the chance of going out 'kai kai'.

So this morning, we had this conversation:

Mommy : Are you sure you dont want to go out with us?
Wayne : Uh huh (yes)
Mommy : Then what about your lunch? Who is going to cook for you to eat?
Wayne : *pauses*
Wayne : San yi!!
Mommy : haha, san yi is going to cook for you? Is she coming to your house to cook for you?
Wayne : Yes!
Mommy : *laughs* Wayne, is it because you miss San yi?
Wayne : Yes!

So that night, San Yi and Uncle Ken came over to our house to play with Wayne, making him happy. =D

Daddy turns 33!

Happy 33rd birthday to our very very precious Daddy!!!

Mommy & daddy were on leave today, so we were able to spend daddy's birthday together with Wayne. We didnt do anything fancy, just chilled together and enjoyed spending time with our little boy, seeing him happy and running about. Mommy also planned a surprise birthday dinner with daddy's family so that the whole family can also celebrate together. Hope you enjoyed your birthday celebration daddy!!! Mommy & Wayne loves you lots.

Eggs benedict for daddy to start the day!

And an American breakfast set for mommy & Wayne

The 3 of us. Little boy eating his bread and taking photo at the same time. And, yes, spot that Yakult bottle, which has become mommy & daddy's special weapon to make Wayne Wayne extremely happy!!

Wayne laughing away.. playing "Round and round the garden... " with daddy

And his favourite "swing' with mommy

Daddy's wish has always been for the three of us to be happy & healthy together forever. As long as we were happy together, thats all that mattered to daddy & daddy would always be very easily pleased.

Mommy & Wayne wishes daddy a lifetime of happiness and good health. We love you a lot daddy.

Wayne curls his eyelash

After months of sitting on the bed watching mommy put on my make up before going out, thats my little boy imitating mommy. Of all my make up tools, this is his favorite.

Chased by a girl!

Last week, we passed by Gymboree and Wayne so badly wanted to go in so we brought Wayne to Gymboree this weekend. Over the past few months, Wayne has gotten so rough. He'd be running around at home, climbing up the sofa and down, jumping on the bed, throwing things around and basically just behaving like how a boy would. Sweaty most of the time too.

So at Gymboree, he really enjoyed himself, picking up balls, throwing them, climbing up the ladder, slides and the playgym structures.

Until, he met a friend.. this little mei mei... Initially he was still okay with her, even giving her a hug when the mei mei's older sister asked her to hug Wayne.

But then, after that hug, she started following Wayne everywhere he went.. till he got so frustrated. Haha. Everytime she ran towards him, he'd quickly run away and shout no no no. Poor little boy, he almost seemed traumatised by this little mei mei!

See, that's Wayne with a frown on his face trying to 'escape' from mei mei!

Well, thats Wayne's first encounter fending off attention from the opposite sex. More to come next time. Hopefully not the other way round. =p

How much does a 2 year old kid eat??

We had a really enjoyable dinner at Waraku tonight, think Heeren will be our new hangout on weekends cos unlike anywhere else on weekends, its so quiet. And the best thing is that we dont have to queue. Singapore is getting so so crowded, its ridiculous, there are queues everywhere just to have a meal. Heeren is good. Especially since it has Waraku - mommy & daddy's favourite Rindo.

It was so good, that even Wayne shocked mommy by how much he ate.. almost a whole bowl of Japanese rice by himself. See, just a few spoonfuls left. He is such a 'fan tong' just like mommy. Few weeks back, we went to Din Tai Fung, and he also shocked mommy by eating 4/5 of the fried rice by himself. And thats not including a whole cup of chawanmushi by himself and some mushrooms. Mommy wonders if all two year old kids eats as much? Or maybe he is going through a growth spurt.

Our little boy, happy after his meal.

A new hairstyle

After the last experience cutting Wayne's hair, we were ready this time - for the loud screams and wailing! We just allowed him to scream. Haha. This time, we didnt even bother to try distracting him with toys or food or behaving like clowns in public. We just allowed him to cry and wait for the haircut to be over. Which wasn't too bad actually.

Looking quite 'poor thing' actually..
Screaming with mouth wide open..
Hehe, and a video to capture the experience.. & to remind him what a cry baby he was =p

Happy at last, no more mushroom head =D

Ooops..we've been missing

A month of absence.. from blogging that is. Well, at least for very happy reasons!! Yeah, mommy, daddy & Wayne have been pretty busy the last month! After we had Wayne's birthday celebration, we were off to Sydney for our 'just the 3 of us' family holiday from 15 to 23 April.. and after that, we were at grandma's most of the time as yeye and nainai were off for their 3 weeks holiday in Europe. So Wayne kept grandma and grandpa pretty busy the past few weeks! And just last week, it was mommy & daddy's 3rd wedding anniversary and we went for a short getaway to Nikoi Island without our little Wayne! Uh oh.. was Wayne upset?? Dont think so, Wayne enjoyed yourself at grandma's, didnt you?

Okie, more posts coming up to catch up over the last month!!

Photos of our Nikoi trip!

The video in the previous post didn't work out that well, so here are the photos which hopefully brings out the beauty of the place much better.

The journey to Nikoi Island was pretty long, 1 hour ferry from Singapore to Bintan Island, then a car ride for another hour to the the jetty below for our boat transfer to Nikoi which took another half hour.

We arrived at Nikoi around 11am and the rooms were not ready so we walked around the island exploring the place and going "wow!!" at all the pretty sights.. posing for photos along the way..

Some parts of the beach weren't covered with nice white sand, like this area in the photo below, which were filled with rocks.

The scenery at the pool area.. very nice unblocked view of the sea.

The island had many such walk ways.. perfect for scenic walks round the island..

The view of the 15 villas lining the beach.. One of the prettiest parts of the island.. our favourite spot..

Finally our villa was ready! This is the ground area where we chilled out alot at, complete with a swing bed on the right, a sofa set, deck chairs for sun tanning and the gazebo where we had our massages!

The swing bed..

The bathroom on the second level..

Our bed, surrounded by a mosquito net and a small fan above - all there was to keep us a cool

The 2nd level overseeing the sea

Full view of our villa

Sun setting in the evening..

the sky turned pinkish in the evening ..it was really pretty.. & that's me at the gazebo having my massage!

When it got darker the whole beach turned a shade of blue. The beach was at its prettiest in the evenings.

Taking in the view..
and the sunset..

At nights, a movie would be played on the big screen at the bar.. first night we watched Shrek & the second night Rapunzel. =) We were the only adults there together with the children.

Campfire at night too
And this is the view at night.. pitch dark.. and ats we slept, we could hear the sound of the sea, lizars, birds, and many many many unidentified insects..

Mommy brought a wedding photo to remind us of that day 3 years back =p

The next morning we awoke to the sight of this rather big monitor lizard in the yard in front of our villa!

This is the communal dining area, and each meal time they'd show on the black board what was for breakfast, lunch or dinner

White sand, blue blue sky.. and beach hunk?

The coomon area where the bar is
After our breakfast

Time for sun-tanning and catching up on our reading

10 am - massage time! 90 minutes of bliss.. at only $60!
After massage, out to the beach!

And when it go too hot, we headed to the bar for some cool drinks.. we had ice coffee, ice tea and coconut drinks!

Some of the sea sports available, most are free.. kayak, sail boats, snorkeling, diving..

Coconut drink was so refreshing in the hot weather!

Back at our fav spot..taken in the evening just before dinner..

Our last morning there...
Heading to the beach for the last time before we depart at 11am!

Saying goodbye to Nikoi..
