Wayne can read!

Or so grandma thought!!!

It was funny!!!

Grandma had just bought a Thomas & Friends story book for Wayne and had brought it over to our home to surprise Wayne. Grandma started to read the book for Wayne.. and was shocked that Wayne could finish the sentences as she read along! Wayne could read out loud.. engine shed, harbour, town, station platform...... as grandma read...

Hahaha.. she thought Wayne was quite the genius!!! She kept telling mommy that Wayne was 'jin jia kiang" ("very smart")!!

And mommy, thinking that grandma had taken the book from our home (I didnt know she had brought a book along!), kept saying "Ya.. cos I read that book to him almost every night" in reply. Finally grandma got it, and said "Ohh dont tell me Wayne has the exact same book".. and finally mommy knew what happened.

Hahaha..... So turned out Wayne was not quite that genius grandma thought him to be!!!!

Exact same books =p

Wayne's first visit to Martin Place

Last Sunday, we collected the keys to our new place and Wayne visited the unit for the first time. We were glad he loved the place. <3

The minute he got in he was running & jumping around and even allocated a corner for himself to sleep (in the cupboard).

Here's how our place looks like before we moved in 5 days later.

This is the living room.. a glass panel and curtains dividing the living from the bedroom.

The lovely view from our unit on a clear day
The bedroom..
Where Wayne wants to sleep when we move in. Considering how small our place is, this isnt too bad an idea..
The in-built refridgerator, microwave and oven plus cabinets
The kitchen
Toilet
And thats practically our whole house. =p

And this is the view of the pool and facilities from the 14th floor sky deck. See those four pavilions, those are bbq pits which have private jacuzzi areas just in front of the bbq pits.. really nice concept!
Back on the 14th floor, there are 2 more bbq pits... really windy!
The bbq pits and chiller..
and a private jacuzzi by bbq area!
The swimming pool.. which is rather big.. a pity we are not regular swimmers.
The bbq pavilions I mentioned earlier..
And the playground where I reckon we will spend lots of time at in future!
Wayne already enjoying himself..

Can't wait to move in already.

Di Di Briel comes to town

Finally after 4 months of waiting, mommy & daddy & Wayne got to see our little nephew & cousin, Di Di Briel, in person!!!! And Di Di Briel was every bit as adorable as he looked in photos! He was such a darling, so well behaved, nothing like the monster Da-yi made him out to be!

Although it was just a short visit this time, it was enough to make all of us excited and happy. We went for many meals together and spent time with the whole family, just as before. =D

Wayne kor-kor was very excited to see Di Di Briel too. Mommy's sure Wayne would make a rather awesome big kor-kor to Di Di Briel. Wayne was gentle with Di Di Briel, loved him with occasional pats and kisses, and even did some baby talking to him. When Di Di Briel cried, Wayne went "No cry, no cry, good boy...". And when mommy allowed Wayne to carry Di Di Briel, he was so delighted. And the greatest mark of Wayne's adoration for his little cousin - Di Di Briel got to be "Diego" from the very first moment. By the way, for the record, Daddy's status is still Boots (Dora's monkey).

Wayne holding Di di's hands
and giving Didi's toes a kiss!
Talking to didi Briel.. =)
Mommy feeding little Gabe his milk!
Grandpa with his precious grandson
Didi Briel showing us his tongue
Love this photo!
And this photo too!
Haha.. Gabe opening his mouth really wide!
Xiaoyi and her precious 2. Bet they'll keep her really busy next time!
Little Wayne adoring his little cousin brother!

Till we meet again in December... take care Di Di Briel!!

We are moving...!

After two years at Carissa Park, we are packing our stuff.. and moving on to another place! How time flies, mommy still recalls the day we decided to rent this unit at Carissa Park, the shifting and settling in this new place. Mommy & daddy were so excited, this was afterall our first 'home' together.

It is however now time to move on.. and that's one of the benefits of renting, isn't it? We get to choose where we want to stay, we get to experience staying in different locations.. but of course, at a price too. Renting is not the way to go long term.. For us at least. But well, as long as we are happy & healthy & together as a family, that's all that matters. =D

So for now, mommy & daddy & Wayne are looking forward to yet a new chapter of our lives (if this qualifies as a new chapter, hehe) for the next one year. Mommy & daddy are really excited cos we love the new place lots. One of the good things is that the project is brand new! All the facilities are new and clean, and we are the first to stay in the unit. Mommy is really looking forward to organizing more get-togethers to enjoy the facilities! Though its just a tiny 1br unit we are renting (Mich says we are loony for choosing this), mommy's sure we will be able to make ourselves all cosy and comfortable.

Mommy really wonders where the next year will bring us.. would we have found our own place by the end of next year? Mommy hopes so. But we will never know. So meanwhile, we will make the best of this coming year and enjoy our new home as much as we can!!

And, today Wayne turns 2 and a half!!!!! Love you sweetheart.

P/s: Packing is really hardwork..... *Sweat!*

Creative moments with colors

Got this set of Crayola color pencils for Wayne. They are non-toxic, twistable (so no sharpener's required!) and comes in 27 pretty colors! They look so pretty, even mommy loves them! And these color pencils are erasable too!

Our first piece of artwork together! The scribbling - from Wayne, the pictures - from mommy. Hehe.

Well, actually Wayne was the creative designer and mommy was the artist. Wayne would shout what he wanted mommy to draw, and where mommy were to draw them, and mommy would just follow little Wayne's instructions. We were looking out of our bedroom window and facing the opposite block of apartments, so you know where he got his inspiration from.

Ohh, the pumpkin and sweets were from his Barney story book on Halloween & Trick or Treating (if you were wondering).

See, this is the little table and chairs we were working on. We just got it two weeks back together with Wayne's bed. The table is white so mommy had to put a plastic film over it whenever we were using colors, just to be safe. Mommy wonders how long we can keep it white.

And its also where we read our story books together. =)
This is Wayne's Lion King story book.

Wheeshing, peeping & tooting with Thomas

Wayne is head over heels in love with Thomas & Friends!

Day in and day out, Wayne would be playing with his 'choo choo trains'. Be it at Wayne's home, Ye-ye's home or Grandpa's home.. Wayne would definitely be playing and talking about Thomas, James, Percy, Spencer and the rest of the trains.

Wayne would pester mommy to tell him stories about the trains each night. And every day without fail, mommy would read the many Thomas story books that daddy bought for him before going to bed. And every weekend, Wayne would choose the color of the clothes he wants to wear.. depending on which engine he wants to be that day! When he chooses to be James, not only does his shirt needs to be in red, he would also insist on red socks. Even mommy's Ipad is filled with many Thomas & Friends interactive story books and puzzles.

And just this week, Wayne had a new Thomas school bags which he loves so much from San-yi!

Mommy was really surprised how much Wayne knew about the engines.. we were reading one of his story books together, and mommy pointed to a green train and called it Percy, only to have my two year old correct me and tell me it was Henry! Haha... my little boy certainly knows his stuff! Silly mommy had thought that all blue trains were Thomas, green trains were Percy & red trains were James!! Apart from these 3 trains and Spencer, mommy didn't know the rest of the engines.

We started to point to different trains in his books and mommy & daddy were so amazed that Wayne knew the names of most of the trains! And when we brought him to the toys department of shopping centres, Wayne could point out the names of even more trains to us! *impressed!!!* Wayne taught mommy and daddy who were Edward, Gordon, Emily, Toby, Diesel, Henry.... and more. *gasp*.

Take for example, Gordon, Edward and Thomas, they are all blue - how could a 2 year old be able to tell the three of them apart??? But yes, Wayne can!!!

And so mommy thought to myself, its time mommy had a 'tutorial' on Thomas and Friends so I could keep up with my little boy. So I surfed the internet, and, oh my gosh, mommy learnt there were altogether 89 different engines (not 3??) under the Thomas & Friends series!!! *super super shocked*

Look at the number of different of trains here! And they all had different names!
Seriously, this could even be used as a guide for choosing a name for your newborn (hey, that doesn't sound like too bad an idea...)

Aren't you amazed??

So thanks to Google and the internet.... mommy is now much more an expert in Thomas & Friends!!! Each time Wayne comes across a new train in his books, he'd ask mommy "Name?Name?" and we 'd try to find out its name together!

Its amazing how much there is to know about a children's cartoon series. And it is even more amazing how this could captivate the attention of millions of kids out there, including that certain little boy named Wayne.

Sodor Island, here we come!!! =p

Uh oh... its called diapers, darling

I swear I didn't teach him this.

Okay.. I did correct Wayne when he pointed to my panties and called them 'shorts'. And since then he has been calling his diapers panties too. Not-my-fault.

Uncle J's birthday!!

Happy Birthday Uncle J!

We were to celebrate Uncle J's birthday today, but unfortunately Uncle J fell ill. And so, lunch had to be postponed. That meant Wayne had to postpone singing his birthday song to Uncle J and postpone blowing the birthday candles together with Uncle J!

Get well soon, Uncle J! Wishing you a speedy recovery and many happy moments with Aunty J all year long. Happy birthday!

Wayne's first taste of chilli!

Mommy & Wayne were having french fries at Mcdonalds when Wayne dipped his fries into the chilli sauce and ate it! Mommy was half expecting the tears to come.... but instead.. he gave me a funny look and said "Nice....!!" Hahaa!!!

Guess my little boy has taken a bit after Aunty J???

Hehe, I dont think he liked the taste of the chilli sauce cos he gave this really funny look on his face after tasting it.

But cheeky boy then dipped another french fry in chilli sauce and that's when mommy snapped the above photo. So all in all, Wayne had his first two taste of chilli sauce today!

Haircut : Big improvement!

Ooooh.. mommy was impressed with Wayne during this hair cut. He actually wanted to have his hair cut!! Maybe for the lollipop he knew he would get at the end of the haircut. Not that he gets to eat lollipops, but he knows mommy likes them and he wanted to get them for mommy. Yes, my little Wayne is sweet like that.

We were waiting for Wayne's turn at the waiting area when Auntie Jessie, his hair stylist, came to get us and asked him if he wanted to cut his hair. Normally at this point, he'd go 'no no no' before crying, but this time.. he paused for a moment, gave an unsure yes before passing the toy he was playing with to Auntie Jessie and told her he wanted to bring it along to his hair cut.

Auntie Jessie then asked him if he wanted to sit by himself or on mommy's lap, he said mommy's lap. And Auntie Jessie got ready to cover him with a cloth when Wayne said "no... pak pak". Wayne wanted to take off his shirt!!! Haha. Cos the last time he was here, we took off his shirt too.. haha... little boy remembered. =)

And so Wayne got his haircut, and got 2 balloons from Auntie Jessie for being such a darling. Why 2? Cos Wayne made sure mommy had one too. He kept reminding Auntie Jessie to get two.. " Two two... momma, Wayne". I think he repeated this three times at least to Auntie Jessie. =)

Looks like my little boy has grown up yet a bit more.

Looking all boyish.

It was an awful moment....

We were viewing an apartment during our work lunch hour and Wayne was with ye-ye at the project too as they had sent nai-nai there, who was acting as our 'agent'. The thing is we were not supposed to let the other agent & owner know we were related to our agent (which is nai-nai) and so we couldnt 'acknowledge' Wayne. Hmm yes its complicated but it doesn't matter.

What mattered was that Wayne saw us when we were driving off after the viewing and we had no choice but to drive off without acknowledging him!!!!! When he spotted us, he was so excited to see us in the car and started to wave excitedly, only to have us just drive off without even stopping! It was such a horrible moment!! Seeing our little precious baby there so excited, and having to just drive off. Mommy was soooooooo upset. Mommy was extremely heartbroken for having to break Wayne's heart. He must have felt so upset & disappointed & rejected & sad. And he was.

After we drove off, we heard from nai-nai that Wayne was so upset he cried and cried so badly, and no amount of coaxing could cheer him up. He definitely would have thought mommy & daddy didnt want him. Mommy feels so terrible.

And you know how traumatized he was? When mommy & daddy got home that night, mommy quickly hugged and loved him. And you could tell he was so happy to see us that night. More so than normal. He hugged me... and you know what he told me? He said "Daddy drive off". And he kept repeating that to me maybe 5 or 6 times in a short half an hour period. He just kept saying "Daddy drive off". You could tell he was so upset with that incident...... and when we went to the car to go home that night, Wayne told mommy "Daddy no drive off." asking us never to do that again.....

My little darling.

Mommy & daddy feels so awful. Never are we going to do hurt your feelings for whatever reason. We will never place Wayne's feeling second to anything ever again. Mommy is so sorry, baby....

The good thing is that after that incident, mommy kept giving Wayne overdoses of mommy's love, hugging and kissing him so much, that I think it has made up for that awful moment. =)

We love you, precious.

We are thankful..

For the support that we have from our families in helping us look after Wayne. It has made bringing Wayne up so much easier and less stressful.

Each day, mommy & daddy go to work knowing that Wayne is in the good hands of nai-nai, ye-ye & ah-por. Never once do we need to worry about Wayne while we are working. During busy days when we need to work late, we never had the stress of having to rush home. Even when from time to time, mommy & daddy felt the need to have some couple date nights, we could because we were blessed with understanding parents. Thank you nai-nai, ye-ye and ah por for loving Wayne so much, always thinking for us and for helping us all these while.

And when, nai-nai and ye-ye needed breaks or had things to attend to, there was always grandma, grandpa and all Wayne's yi-yi's to help us! Who constantly showers our little boy with much love and always plan lots of outings for our little boy to have fun on weekends.

And just this Friday morning, when coincidentally both grandma and nai-nai could not look after Wayne, and mommy couldn't take leave off work due to meetings, San-Yi & Uncle Ken came to the rescue and baby-sitted Wayne for mommy & daddy although they were both busy with work.. Thank you San-yi & Uncle Ken for not only looking after Wayne but for even bringing him to East Coast park to have fun in that few hours!!!

And you know what's so wonderful, San-yi? It is that you love Wayne so much and are so close to him that even when I had to drop Wayne off at your place this morning, I didn't have to worry that Wayne would cry or would be looking for me after a while cos I knew he loved being with you.. and true enough when he saw you and Uncle Ken this morning, he was so excited and happy, he kept saying "Sentosa beach" in the car! Haha.

Big thank you to everyone from the bottom of our hearts: Diego, Dora & Boots (as Wayne would call us). =p

Didi Briel's hair "stand up"

Oh my gosh, Wayne is so funny!!! Grandma showed Wayne Di-di Briel's photo from his recent blog post and asked if he was cute.. and Wayne replied "no, because his hair stand up"!!! Hahahaha, that is Di Di Briel's trademark!!! Da-Yi is going to be so angry! Hahahah.

See this is Di-di Briel with his 'standing up hair'. It makes him look soooo cute & adorable, Wayne!!! Mommy loves Di-di Briel's hair!!!!

Lest you think Wayne doesn't adore Di-di Briel, Wayne loves Di-di Briel very much oki, Da-yi!!! Every night, mommy tells Wayne that Di-Di Briel is coming in xx number of days (we are counting down, you know!) and we will pretend play, Wayne will cradle Di-di Briel, feed Di-di Briel his milk, change his diapers and also bathe Di-Di Briel.

Da-yi, Wayne has been practising so hard, he is all ready to help you look after Di-di Briel when you guys come!! =)=)=)

Yi Yi turns twenty...... five!

Happy Birthday Yi-Yi!

Gosh, mommy's baby sister is finally growing up. At 25, Yi-Yi is 23 years older than Wayne.

To celebrate Yi-Yi's birthday, we went to this Korean restaurant called Kho Kho Nara for authentic Korean food. The chicken here was one of the best I've tried!

Wayne was so happy singing the birthday song for Yi-Yi and after we finished singing, he was so quick he almost blew the candle for Yi-Yi, luckily we managed to stop him in time and he & Yi-Yi could blow the candle together!!! Everybody's birthday is Wayne's birthday!!!!

Again missing Da-Yi, Uncle Terry & Di-di Briel! Hurry hurry hurry come back!

Wishing Yi-Yi pass her exams SOON, find a job SOON, earn lots of money to buy Wayne presents, slim down to mommy's size and look girly & preeeeeety!!!! Hahahahaha.... not that Yi-Yi is not pretty now, just preeeetier...... girly pretty not boyish pretty okkkk!!

Love you Yi-Yi! Kiss kiss, hugs hugs!
