Conquering 3 Quays

13 April 2013

This Saturday morning, we did what we normally do on weekends, which is to stroll and have our brekkie near the riverside. Today, however, was a bit different cos we ventured to a new riverside. From Robertson Quay, we walked to Clarke Quay and continued to Boat Quay, conquering the three Quays! This mini adventure took us about two hours, inclusive of breakfast. Wayne was awesome, skate scooting throughout the long journey - not a complain from him at all! At least up till the point we reached Boat Quay, and we discovered that the river boat we had planned to take for our return trip back to Robertson Quay was not available. He was so disappointed, as he had really looked forward to going on the boat ride. We ended up taking a taxi home. Hehe.

It was a good workout for us all (how long has it been since I last sweated it out?!) and the scenic view we had to accompany our morning walk was a bonus point!

Micaela's birthday celebration

7 April 2013

It was Micaela's fourth birthday celebration!

Being the princess girl that she was, of course her party had to be in the princess theme. Even before her birthday, Wayne had already told us to buy a Snow White present for his little friend, and so we did!

Her party was held at her home in Sentosa, and it was indeed well planned, with a pretty princess birthday cake, lots of balloons, popcorns and jellies and chocolates for all the little children.

The highlight of the party was the magician that Micaela's mommy arranged to entertain the kids. He made the children laugh non-stop! Spot Wayne, in his blue shirt, sitting beside the birthday girl Micaela. Quite a few of the Champs turned up as well - there was Conrad, Lele, Raye, Jake, Emma to name a few..and even two of their teachers.

Balloon sculpting time was also a hit with the kids. While the girls chose teddy bear and heart shaped balloons, Wayne wanted his in the shape of a gun, and later proceeded to play 'shooting' with the rest of the boys. (Sigh!)

And here is a video of Micaela, Emma and Wayne playing together.

Thank you Micaela for inviting us to your princess party!  Happy fourth birthday to you!

Really like this photo of both of them, looking really sweet together. I think Wayne will really miss you when you return home to Sweden in a months time!

Growing up in school

21 March 2013

One of my happy mommy days - when I'm not swamped with work and am able to pick Wayne up from school. It's been a long while. So much so that it really made Wayne's day when he saw me. He was so excited he ran and told three of his teachers that 'my mommy fetch me from school today yay yay yay'. It almost made me feel guilty for not doing this more often.

He told me he wanted to finish listening to the story laoshi was telling the kids and though it was almost 630pm then, I gladly obliged.

Story telling time - Wayne's favorite activity in school
And I was glad I did, as I got to see how Wayne played with his friends, how they sweetly hugged each other.. and I enjoyed all the 'kiddo chats' with Wayne's friends, especially Felicia whom I've seen grown up together with Wayne since a year ago.

Wayne even took a photo of me with Felicia and Raye, which he proudly showed his friends. He found it amusing, telling his friends 'my mommy in the photo with my friends - so funny, correct?' He went giggling with his hands covering his mouth, something he likes to do very often these days.

Not too bad a photo for a 4 year old!
And once the photo-taking started, one by one all the kids squeezed beside Wayne all wanting to be in the photo .. And so 9 in the photo - ultra cute! Love them little kids!

Another thing mommy really enjoys when visiting his classroom is to admire the Champs artwork and to spot my little boys creation.

And this is his. (Actually when I saw this, I was thinking.. "So simple?" Hehe. But I guess they must have been learning about numbers and so this choice of artwork.)

Finally to end the day, laoshi brought bubbles out, which made all the kids go crazy. It was hilarious watching them scream while trying to catch bubbles!

I captured it on video to share - enjoy!!
