Two and a half months to go..

We are two and a half months away from welcoming baby girl’s arrival. We are also trying to squeeze in all the things we want to do but probably cannot do then, during this period. For me, my priority is Wayne – to spend as much time as I can with him and plan more fun activities for him. I reckon I will miss him lots when baby girl arrives and I have to split my time between them both. It hurts me already thinking about it. Hopefully I’m worrying more than I need be. For the husband, I’m also conscious to spend as much ‘couple’ time together. It’ll be a long time before we can truly enjoy some couple time with two kids in our hands.  But we have lots to look forward to the coming month, with our fourth wedding anniversary and his birthday coming up in May. And I’m especially excited over a surprise I’ve planned for him as part of our anniversary celebration.

Family is truly most important.  And most precious to me. I constantly remind myself to spend quality time together, loving them and making sure they feel loved.

This weekend, we had a really nice 'family time' over brunch on Sunday. Just down the road from where we live. Wayne was ever happy to stroll, or rather run, at the open spaces. Toby’s Estate is like this hidden gem we discovered, really nice ambience by the river, famous for their coffee too. I had a few sips of their coffee, and its really good. And strong. HK had two cups. Coffee lovers would love this Aussie joint.

We took some lovely photos too!

As we strolled back to our home, husband and I couldn’t help but remark that we will really miss the living environment here when our lease is up. We definitely will make the most of it in these few months that we have left till October.

Outie or innie?

Hehe. I am referring to the belly button.

It's really funny this thing called our belly button or navel. Some of us are natural innies and some outies. I guess most people are innies? I am. Naturally. Just not now, now that I am pregnant.

Strangely, when I was pregnant with Wayne I was an innie. Now for baby girl, I've turned into an outie. I wonder what causes the difference. And whether I'll be back to an innie after delivering. I think so.

Just find this rather cute.

P/s: I wanted to show some pictures of my belly button, comparing it now with how it looked like when I was expecting Wayne. Opposites. It turned out somehow rather gross. So I'll drop the idea & spare you some torture.

Happy first birthday, Kayleigh

Happy first birthday, Kayleigh Mae!

It was a really nice party held at Fullerton Hotel. All for little Kayleigh's first birthday!

Wayne had a nice little surprise too, meeting Uncle KC there. Wayne kept following Uncle KC everywhere he went, playing and talking to him. Almost holding Uncle KC back from his work. Daddy had to keep pulling Wayne back, so that Uncle KC could carry out his 'duties' for the day. Wondering why Wayne had such an attachment to Uncle KC, quite unlike our little boy who usually doesn't warm up that quickly to people. Perhaps, thats what they call affinity.

What a bummer

What a disappointment... mommy was really looking forward to the weekend. We had lined up a series of fun activities and gatherings starting from Friday all the way to Sunday.

First, there was Wayne's first school excursion to the zoo on Friday which he was really looking forward to. The theme for the term was "Animals" so the trip to the zoo to end the term was just perfect. And it was really timely as well, as it has been a while since Wayne's last visit there. For the last two weeks, Wayne has been talking about the trip to the zoo, he was very happy that daddy would be going with him. Wayne was really proud of his daddy.

On Saturday, we were planning to bring Wayne to the Central Fire Station to view a real fire engine. Wayne is really into fire engines now, always pretending to be a fireman and putting out fire at home. He would have loved the visit.  And in the afternoon, there was a friend's daughter's first year birthday party at Fullerton Hotel to attend. Night - we were to gather at Uncle J's home for dinner.

And on Sunday, we have a lunch gathering planned for with Aunty Cheryl, Uncle Danny and Jie Jie Charmaine. The last time Wayne and Jie Jie Charmaine met, Jie Jie Charmaine took such good care of him, playing with Wayne. We were looking forward to letting them play together again.

But alas, Wayne fell sick this week. He was down with an ear infection, which had resulted in him having fever and a really bad cough since Tuesday. Wayne's on a course of antibiotics for seven days. So we had no choice but to give the zoo excursion a miss.... and for the rest of the activities, Wayne would probably have to skip those too. The fire station visit will have to wait till next Saturday, dinner at Uncle J's to be rescheduled and mommy & daddy will have to attend the birthday party and gathering with Aunty Cheryl & family without Wayne. Jie Jie Charmaine will be disappointed.

And so is mommy, but priority is for Wayne to recover as quickly as possible. On the positive side, there will always be other school excursions to attend in future! So get well soon, my precious son!! Mommy & daddy loves you a lot!!

Doting on baby girl

Mommy & Daddy stayed up all night choosing pretty clothes for our little baby girl yesterday! Mommy almost went crazy going through all the really sweet and pretty clothes at the Ralph Lauren website. Mommy just kept clicking on "Add to Shopping Cart" repeatedly!!! In the end, we ended u buying 8 pieces for baby girl, 2 for Wayne Wayne and another 2 for Gabriel. 12 pieces in total!

So that makes it our first purchase for baby girl! Oh my gosh, mommy is just so in love with their dresses and rompers. Can't wait for shipment to arrive!

Mommy has been surfing the net for pretty bedding sets, clothes and all sorts of things for baby girl.

This weekend, we plan to start getting some other stuff that we will need too, like a new cover for our Maxi Cosi infant car seat and a step-on for Wayne to attach to our Quinny Buzz.

This is getting exciting!

Kids say the darnest things

I guess it's really true when they say kids say the darnest things. Wayne constantly makes us laugh at some of the things he says. Sometimes endearing, sometimes mind-boggling, but always hilarious. As it is almost impossible to capture these moments on film, this will suffice in documenting the darnest things he says.

I'm sure we will look back at this post and smile whenever we recall these moments.

(1) Daddy about to drive off with Wayne from Ye Ye's house when Ye Ye would always stand at the car door and remind Daddy to drive carefully.

Wayne (mimics Ye Ye): Daddy please drive carefully.
Daddy: Ok Wayne.
*car door closes*
Wayne: Daddy! Go! Go! Go!
Daddy: I thought you just told me to drive carefully?
Wayne: Ask you to race, not crash, Daddy.
Daddy: .................

(2) Cruising in the car, suddenly Wayne says:

Wayne: Can i drink coffee when i grow up? Can i iron my own clothes when i grow up?

(3) Daddy fetches Wayne from school and promises to bring him to a toy shop at Taka during dinner time.

Wayne: I wanna go to toy shop now.
Daddy: No, we have dinner first.
Wayne: Nooooooo!
Daddy: Ok Wayne, you choose. Either we go to the toy shop now, play for awhile and proceed for dinner or we go for dinner first and play for a long time thereafter. *quietly confident Wayne would choose to go for dinner first*
Wayne: Go toy shop play for a short while now, go for dinner and go back to the toy shop and play for a long time.
Daddy: ................

(4) Mummy: Sorry Wayne, mummy hasn't cooked dinner for you this week, Mummy is naughty.
Wayne: Ok Mummy. Please go stand naughty corner.
Mummy: ..................

Eternally thankful

Eternally thankful for you.

Preparing Wayne for mei-mei's arrival

.. with a sticker book about having a new baby at home!

The book tells the story of how the family were busy preparing for baby's arrival, setting up the cot etc and how mommy's belly got bigger and bigger, till it was time for baby to be delivered, and mommy had to go to the hospital etc.. and after that, the family were busy looking after the new baby and how the siblings had lots of fun playing with the baby.

We are trying to make a conscious effort to explain to Wayne how it would be like when mei-mei is with us, hopefully it will help to prepare him for mei-mei's arrival. And I think it is working. As sometimes, Wayne would include mei-mei in some of our conversations.

For example, last week, we were 'pretend playing' that we were trapped in a building which was on fire and were waiting for the firemen to come rescue us. Wayne said "Hurry save us! Momma, Wayne and mei-mei are here! Save us!". Mommy was glad Wayne included mei-mei as part of us although she's still in my womb.

And just this morning, Wayne had a sweet long conversation with mei-mei. We had just woken up and mommy and Wayne were lazing on the bed cuddling together, when Wayne started his conversation with mei mei with a kiss on my belly.

Wayne: Good morning, mei-mei! Sunny day! Time to wake up! "ring ring ring" (pretends to sound the alarm clock)
Mommy : Good morning, kor kor.
Wayne : Momma, who's talking? Momma or mei-mei?
Mommy : Mei-mei, Wayne.

Wayne : Okay
Wayne : Baby... Wayne loves you...
Mommy : Baby loves you too kor kor. Can you help to look after me next time? Feed me my milk, take my wipes and change my diapers for me?
Wayne : No, Wayne take wipes, momma change diapers. Cos Wayne don't know how to change diapers.
Mommy : Okay! How about sharing your toys with me?
Wayne : Baby too small.. don't know how to play with toys. Small toys? Wayne give you small toys. Small Thomas. Baby don't know how to set up the mat, Wayne set up the mat, baby play with small Thomas.
Mommy : That's nice Wayne. Thank you kor kor for sharing your toys with mei-mei.
Wayne : Only small toys. Cos baby is small.

Wayne then proceeded to climb onto my body, to give mommy a hug. Then he gets down.

Wayne : Mommy, is baby flattened?
Mommy : No darling, cos mommy protected baby.
Wayne : Okay. Sorry baby. Wayne flattened baby. Wayne climb onto mommy. *pats mommy's belly, loving mei-mei*

Sweet.

The smell of spas..

I love the smell of spas. The calming fragrance of green tea oil. Finally started on my pre natal massages since 3 weeks back.

Today was my 2nd session. It felt good to be pampered. I'll be going for massages every two weeks till my 8th month before I have to stop.

It suddenly dawned upon me that's it's just less than 3 months before I deliver. Can you believe it?? This pregnancy has indeed moved too quickly. I feel like I've been neglecting baby girl. It's time we started buying things and preparing for baby's arrival. What happened to the 9 months I was supposed to have to prepare? I've been too busy with other things, without realizing. I really need to slow down & enjoy this pregnancy. It may well be my last.

I'm going to start with my shipment of baby girl's clothes from USA tonight. And I've slowly already came out with a list of "would loves" to get for our sweet girl.

Time - please slow down.

3rd b'day extravaganza : Birthday shoot

Ending the last of what we had planned for Wayne for his third birthday was a family photoshoot at Botanical Gardens.

On his actual birthday itself, the shoot started at 830am and lasted for an hour and a half. Wayne was in a real good mood that day and warmed up to Uncle KC really quickly, surprising us. We haven't seen the photos taken, but mommy is hoping there would be many nice ones of Wayne and the family! (Sigh, apart from the fact mommy was suffering from a real bad hair day but.. nvm...)

For the shoot, mommy & daddy had prepared a few 'props' to entertain Wayne, which proved useful. We brought along his Thomas luggage, his giant cupcake balloon, giant swirl lollipops, bubbles, soccer ball, a picnic mat and lots of food like sandwiches, strawberries, kiwis, grapes, bananas and sausages. We hope they added a touch of personalization & colors to the photos.

Here is Wayne and Uncle KC

Happy third birthday, our sweet boy. We love you!!!

3rd b'day extravaganza : Partying at Mindchamps!

Wayne's mini birthday party at Mindchamps was so much fun! It was such an adorable sight with so many excited and happy kids altogether. They looked so cute together - wearing party hats and getting excited over the birthday cake, balloon and party bags. Wayne of course was happy being the centre of attention once again, especially during the singing of the birthday song & blowing of the candle. He excitedly gave out the goodie bags to each of his friends, putting a smile on their faces.

Mommy & daddy enjoyed the whole celebration too! We loved interacting with the kids and getting to know all of Wayne's classmates. It was just such fun. Including preparing for the party. Just a few days before, mommy & daddy bought the goodie bags, the stuff to fill the bags with and prepared thank you cards. Thanks Yi-yi for helping Wayne design this cute little Thomas card for his 3rd birthday!

Mommy already miss the party and the kids, looking at these photos!!! And mommy loved this Thomas cake very much!
