Our hunky husband-daddy star

14 June 2013

I'm terribly slow in catching up on my backlogs and I know, as I'm now updating the blog for the husband's birthday which was 2 weekends back (not that long a backlog!), by the time I'm done it would be the Father's Day weekend. And so, since it involves the same hunky star, I've decided to combine both celebrations in one blog entry.

Where do I start?

Here's a man, my husband and my kids father, who in our eyes (and we have high standards, mind you) is the most amazing guy around. He loves us with all his heart, places us above anyone, anything, makes us feel like the worlds best, mops the floor, washes the dishes, cleans the toilets, chauffeurs us around, bathes the son, runs out to get groceries at midnight without a complaint, puts up with my constant (and mostly unreasonable) demands... And truth be told I could go on and on and on, on why we love this person so dearly but I shan't make you cringe (any further).

Sure, he farts and snores and annoys us to the brink at times (haha i just had to add this in), but... every single day of my life, I just thank God he's mine and he's father to our kids.

I love you dearie and so does Wayne and Amanda. Thanks for all you have done for us and more than anything, for loving us the way you do.

Mommy didn't prepare any present for daddy on this special day, but guess what, daddy's sweet daughter did! What better present to receive on Father's Day than having Amanda utter her first real word "Papa!!!" on the morning of Father's Day. Totally made daddy's day!!!!!!

Happy being 35 and happy Father's Day!

I wanted to upload the photos taken during our birthday celebration for him but I'm taking too long in the sorting, and our Father's Day celebration photos were much prettier with the beautiful greenery at Botanic Gardens where we had a picnic. So the birthday photos will have to wait and be posted in another entry. Meanwhile, here was how we celebrated Father's Day at Botanic Gardens. It was a really lovely morning, and with the haze confining us indoors the weeks after, aren't we glad we had this picnic! It was also Amanda's first picnic, and chubby girl was pretty happy being outdoors, munching on her bread and watching daddy and korkor run around with their Thomas beach ball.

Loving his cherry tomatoes.. Wayne had the most food that morning, let me recall what we packed for him  : tomatoes, strawberries, yoghurt, bread, chicken biscuits with cheese dip, a packer of milo, yakult and his water bottle. All for this small boy!

See that little package.. that was prepared by Wayne in school for daddy - some cupcakes which contributed to our picnic food and a photo of Wayne with the message "Papa, wo ai ni!"

Love the sunshine glow on her face!

Here is Amanda watching korkor kick his ball around and trying to 'catch' the ball from where she was sitting!

We cheated a little, buying our picnic food from Food For Thought instead of packing our own. How convenient!! I love this!

Love this set of photos with Amanda laughing away, as you can guess, we were playing "Round and round the garden..." never fails to tickle this little gal!

Wayne growing up that bit more

Out of the blue, Wayne told me this morning while we were getting ready to leave home, that he wanted to walk into his classroom by himself and that I could say bye to him at the entrance (which is where the kids remove their shoes and have their temperatures taken).

We used to try that in the past but he would never allow us to leave. All of a sudden, he just decided he was a big enough boy to do that. I told him I was really proud of him and he insisted I call daddy immediately to let him know.

And with a hug and a kiss, my little boy said bye to me and made his way into his classroom himself.

Another reminder that my little boy is no longer that little.

On a side note, we registered Amanda for playgroup at Mindchamps, so if all goes as planned, she'll be in PG starting Feb 2014.

First movie experience!

After months since mommy and daddy's last movie date (can't even remember when that was!), the first movie we caught was Thomas's blue mountain mystery.

It was Wayne's first to a cinema and we were kinda taking a chance with it as we we were not sure if he would be afraid since the cinema would be pitch dark and the sound quite loud. I'm glad we took the chance as it turned out he loved it. Of course I'm sure had it been any other movie, the outcome would have been very different.

Being his first experience, he did need quite a few reminders to talk softly. Each time the songs came on, Wayne clapped his hands and gave quite a performance singing along to the tunes of Blue mountain mystery, oblivious that the whole cinema could probably hear him. He was really into it and we couldn't bear to burst his bubble so we didn't bother to quieten him when he sang. I'm sure the rest of the parents would understand.. and he wasn't really THAT loud. :)

Amanda of course had to skip this outing and was placed at Grandma's, which is good from time to time as we could really give Wayne our undivided attention and truth is that I really do miss these moments with my little boy very much. He was however really naughty and we did have to reprimand him a couple of times while outside, with him uttering "I'm really very upset with the two of you" when we scolded him. We didn't know whether to laugh or to scold him further. Sigh. Disciplining is really no easy feat.
