Its Wayne's first CNY!!! Day One!!!

Its finally the Chinese New Year and we all got to wear our new CNY clothings!!! =p for little Wayne, it was his red shirt & white pants!

The first day was spent visiting relatives from daddy's side! There were 5 stops in total: nai nai's house, then to daddy's aunty's house (maternal side), then to uncle choo & aunty florence's house and Ah bu's house, and lastly to Uncle J's new home!!! Wayne Wayne was the centre of attraction where ever we went. Passed from hand to hand, Wayne Wayne must have been so tired! But I'm sure Wayne enjoyed the day too!

Wayne Wayne collected many ang pows too, his first angpow from mommy and daddy!

And look at the many family photos we took on this CNY morning!

Mam mam mam mam mam...........

Mam mam mam mam for mam-mi or for food? Mommy says its for mam-mi!!!!!!

Wayne has been babbling alot the last week, and have been going mam mam mam.... its adorable. Oki, its probably for food not mommy. Still.. =p

Finally we succumbed..

.. and got ourselves a part time helper to help with the household chores. This is the third week we have engaged her help, so on this Saturday morning, while she is cleaning the house for me & Wayne is taking his morning nap, I get to relax, enjoy my coffee and type away on my lappy. =)

This arrangement works so well for us. Gone are the weekends of spending at least half a day vacuuming and mopping the floor, washing a few rounds of clothes, washing the bathrooms, ironing... and the list goes on. All while looking after Wayne at the same time. We figured, having spent so much time at work already, precious weekends should be spent having fun with Wayne and not doing household chores. My backbone is really happy about this too, cos doing household chores with Wayne in the baby carrier is really BAD for the back. Usually gives me a backache for the rest of the week.

Why oh why did we even try to do all the housework ourselves for the past 3 months. Should have started this arrangement long time ago. Oh yes, the reason was to learn. To learn how to mop the floor, learn how to wash the toilet bowl and etc. Now that we have learnt, we can pass the job to the helper. Yay!

Gong Xi Fa Cai

Wayne Wayne wishing everyone a very Happy Chinese New Year, with 2 oranges in his hands, no less! Gong Xi Gong Xi!!!!!

Its little Wayne's first Chinese New Year celebration! Wayne was all decked out in his little chinese costume, which was bought by Aunty Vivien! It was white in color with gold trimmings, and instead of the traditional top & bottom, this came in a romper style! Wayne Wayne looked so cheena-ish cute!!!!

Reunion dinner was held at nainai's house, where there were lots of yummy food! But little Wayne was not interested in the food, instead he spent most of his time playing with the many oranges!

Go Go Bambini

On Chinese New Year eve, we brought Wayne out to this indoor playground, Gogo bambini. Aunty Shimin had brought Baby Chloe there and recommended the place to mommy. And yes, just like Baby Chloe, Wayne Wayne loved playing there! Maybe one day, Baby Chloe and Baby Wayne can go there together to have some fun

Wayne loved the colorful balls the most, lifting them up with your tiny hands and throwing them around. Mommy can imagine you'd love this place when you can start walking!

Wayne lying down in the pool of balls!

This girl was so sweet, she kept coming up to Wayne and touching him! =)

Exploring Chinatown!

This year, as its Wayne's first CNY and sua-ku mommy has never been to Chinatown during the CNY period, daddy decided to bring his little family for a walk in the heart of Chinatown to take in the festive mood. The whole place was jammed pack with people - there were the last minute shoppers getting their CNY goodies, families and couples posing for photos, curious tourists, and stall owners hoping to rake in lots of money and clear all their goods before the CNY. There sure were lots of festive excitement going round! Given the crowd and noise, even little Wayne couldnt help but feel excited! Little Wayne was screaming happily as we walked down the lanes of Chinatown. I guess he just wanted to participate in all the festive cheers! As for mommy & daddy, we were just happy to get our bak kwa and ba hu!

This time, brocolli & tomatoes!

Its been great fun preparing food for Wayne - simply because its easy and you can mix almost all kinds of food together. You get to experiment and it doesnt matter if it doesnt taste good together, just pack all the nutrituous meat, vegetables, fruits together into a healthy sumptuous meal for baby!

I got some time off from work today, so I bought some organic tomatoes and brocollis for little Wayne, in hope that he'd grow to LOVE vegetables from young and that he wont be that kind of kid that refuses vege when he gets older and learns to say no to mommy.
Washed and ready to be steamed
After which, it got blended..
Looking like this after being blended - doesnt look that appetising right..
And finally, the end product, after mixing a few tablespoons of brocolli & tomato with his cereal!
And the remaining brocolli & tomato went to the freezer!

Well done Daddy!

Last Saturday morning, when mommy went to be the model for Da-yi and San-yi's manicure class, Daddy brought Wayne out all by himself for 3 and a half hours! Daddy is such a capable daddy!! Daddy even managed to feed little Wayne all by himself!

When mommy went to join daddy & wayne after the mani class, mommy spotted you both in a corner at United Square. Wayne was in the stroller and daddy on the bench feeding Wayne his cereal! Mommy thought that was quite a sweet sight, seeing daddy handling little Wayne all by himself.

Well done Daddy! That officially means mommy can go out more often leaving Wayne Wayne in Daddy's good hands! =p

Wayne Wayne's ever so eager to 'mam-mam' look

Whats in that box San-yi is giving me???

Hehe, mommy found this photo hilarious - what in the world is daddy doing???? And Wayne was laughing away!! He must have seen daddy's funny face in the mirror!!

Hello Gymbo, Hello Wayne!

Hello Gymbo! For those who doesn't know Gymbo, Gymbo is the clown! Wayne Wayne's new friend!

Mommy & daddy bought this colorful ball from Gymboree for Wayne to play with and for Wayne to bring along when swimming! Also, as we are signing Wayne up for Gymboree lessons, by familiarising himself with Gymbo, maybe he'll enjoy the classes more! You know like how you feel happier going to school when you have that best friend with you? =)

Ask Wayne where is Gymbo, and he'll point to the clown as he is doing in the below photo!

A few more tricks mastered!

Its adorable what Wayne has learnt lately.. hehe.. mommy & daddy spent most of the weekend making Wayne perform all his 'tricks'!

It used to be just the 'high fives' and 'shake hands' and where is the lights, xmas tree (gone now!), monkey etc etc.. Now, he can do much more! Mommy should get more videos of you taken!

Top favourites:

1) Bounce Bounce!
And Wayne would in a sitting position start to bounce up and down.. hehe, its hilarious. And each time he does that, mommy & daddy will burst out laughing and Wayne would think its some game and get all excited, bouncing some more to make us laugh even more! Way tooooooo cute!

2) Hello!
Wayne has this little green toy phone and each time we pass it to him and say "HELLOOO!" he'd put it by his ear! Hehe!
3) Orh orh (as in sleeping..)
And he'd go into sleeping position, whereever he is! If he is in his stroller he'd just lie to his side resting his cheeks against the side of his chair. If he is in his high chair, he'd just lie on the tray. Next moment, he'd get up and grin at you. Adorable!

4) Flying kiss
Wayne's version: A hand/finger to his mouth and it stops there. Still havent gotten the 'flying' bit, but this will do. Cleverrrr boy!!!!!!!!!!

5) "Kok tao"
Hehe, say 'Wayne kok tao' and he'd very gently lean towards you face down, until his forehead 'koks' against yours!

6) Sorry!
Wayne hasnt mastered this entirely (there are still moments when we say 'sorry!' and there's no reaction from him) but when he does, its ultra cute! He'll lift up his hand and put it by the side of his forehead in that 'sorry sorry' manner that y'know sometimes we adults do? Hmm, I really must get a video of this!

First CNY reunion dinner

Its still a week before CNY, but because Aunty Florence and Uncle Choo would be going away on holiday, we had our 'extended family' reunion dinner early. We had it at Xin Cuisine, the food was really good! And, Wayne received his 2nd angpow too - Thanks Aunty Florence & Uncle Choo!

Do I look like Daddy?

Hmm, mommy thinks no! =p
At least not in this photo!

Daddy has a long chin.. and Wayne's chin is hardly visible! Overshadowed by his cheeks!!

Favourite activity

Ever since Wayne 'discovered' that there was 'something' (which is really nothing) behind our bed head, he'd pull himself up and lean over each time we put him on our bed. Not sure what he is peering at each time, but he sure loves it!

And thats not all, he also loves to rub the top of his head against the wall! Must be the cold feeling against his head that he likes... hmm.. ??
