The zoo is fun!

This is Wayne’s third visit to the much loved zoo! It gets more and more fun as Wayne gets older as he can now recognize even more animals and can even imitate some of the animal actions!

We arrived at the zoo at 1130am, and was surprised that the queue was still very long although it was already close to mid day! Looks like everyone else wanted to sleep in a bit later just like mommy & daddy! The weather was perfect today, although we spent the afternoon at the zoo, it was cooling and breezy – really perfect!

The last time we came to the zoo, somehow we only saw a few animals.. was it 3??? Hehe, this time… we made up for it!! We saw lots and lots of animals and managed some pretty nice photos of them too!

Mommy likes this shot of the tiger leaping in the water - really nice!

The past times we went to the zoo somehow we never ended up in this area.. so this time, we decided we had to check this out!

Impressive water play area in the zoo!!

Fighting!

Majestic lion!!

Mommy is really a big fan of the zoo, not only is it fun to see so many different animals, it is also so educational! Just today, mommy learnt many new facts about the animals, some of which was so interesting!

We got this really close up shot of this cheetah, really beautiful!

Wayne did this when he saw the rhino!
And then finally, when we were tired from all the walking, we hopped onto the tram for a ride round the zoo, hoping to catch any animals that we missed out while walking! It was a pretty short ride though, realised the zoo wasn't as big as we thought! And with that, we ended our fun excursion today!

The outing that got mommy worried

Another fun Sunday where daddy went for football & mommy brought Wayne down the road to Polliwogs for some fun and morning breakfast. It always feels especially nice to wake up early and head to East Coast. And, if you've been to Polliwogs before, you'd know how crowded it usually is. Few times we've headed there and turned back as it was just too crowded. But on Sunday mornings, mommy & Wayne are usually one of the first to be there! That means having the whole playground to ourselves!

Well but after 30 minutes or so, the crowd started coming in, and that's when 'fun' kinda ended for little Wayne. He started feeling scared, and got all clingy to mommy. Which is the reason for this blog entry title. Cos Wayne seems to get increasingly timid and thats really worrying mommy.

You see, he was happily playing in his favourite pool of balls.. until this boy came along and dived in. Which resulted in Wayne scurrying over to mommy as quickly as he could.. and for the rest of the time the boy was inside the pool of balls, Wayne was relegated to standing outside watching him play - no matter how many times mommy encouraged him to make friends with the boy and play together.

And when the other areas of the playgroud got invaded by more and more kids, Wayne chose to play with stuff no kids liked to play with.. like this door lock.. ****sigh*** .

Is this the often mentioned "separation anxiety" phase? Perhaps.. but mommy does hope Wayne Wayne will grow out of this phase soon and not grow up being a timid boy. Wayne is afraid of so many things! Funniest was when we were at Paragon and there was a message through the intercom and Wayne burst out crying. Since then, he has been scared of microphones and all things related.

So you see this photo below.. *BIG achievement* cos Wayne went down the slide all by himself a few times!! All the past times Wayne went on a slide, we had to be by his side supporting him. But this round,*whee* Wayne went down himself and enjoyed it!! Okay, I know he looks terrified in this photo, but really, he had fun going down this slide!! =p

Beep beep.. Wayne goes driving!

This was fun! Xiao yi stayed over at our place and early Saturday morning, grandpa and grandma came over and brought us to East Coast Park for some fun driving Wayne's little jeep!

The jeep's too big to be placed in daddy & mommy's car so we can only go to ECP with the jeep when grandpa comes. Time to change car, daddy?? =p No, daddy loves his car so much I think he'll keep it till Wayne's grown up and pass it on to you Wayne darling. 21st birthday present. Hehe. Oh but, da-yi promised Wayne a BMW too when he is 21, he'll have two cars then??! Yay! Mommy can drive one!

Well, for now, Wayne's contented to drive his cute little jeep, which grandpa & grandma bought for him for his first birthday. Yes, Wayne has a driver's license!!! He can control the steering, change gear, beep the horn, switch on the signal and entertain his passengers (who are walking) with some music!!! With the help of xiao-yi of course.. who was controlling the jeep with the remote control, as Wayne sat in and enjoyed the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks grandpa, grandma and xiao yi - this was fun!!!! Come again next weekend!!!!

Wayne visits horses!

Read on another blog of this horse stable at Pasir Ris and decided to check it out since mommy & daddy were on leave today! It was a small stable, with about 8 horses, tucked away in a corner at Pasir Ris Park. A very nice quiet place! Just last week, we had brought Wayne to the Bukit Timah Saddle Club, unfortunately we were not allowed upclose to the horses. This place was much better – we could get really close to them!

Well, Wayne got really excited upon spotting the horses from afar but once we got nearer, our little boy clinged on to mommy’s leg refusing to walk around by himself! Horrible da-yi is going to call Wayne a wuss again…. Hehe! But Wayne’s really such a timid. Sigh. Monster at home, little scaredy cat outside…Big boy, big boy, you must grow up macho and brave y’know?

And, mommy must have had her retribution for always scaring Wayne with lizards (Elaine : Be careful! =p). .. got such a scare when I knelt down for a photo beside Wayne when I felt this horrible thing ‘jumping’ against my legs. It was a gross lizard trapped under my legs. Scared the hell out of me. Darn lizards.

Oh, back to the stable, we also realized that place was really nice for a cycle… East Coast Park is way too crowded! Another place to add on to mommy’s “to go” list for December!!! Plus, we can visit the horses again!!!

Jacob Ballas Children’s Playground

Finally, a trip to this famous playground!! The last time we came here, it was closed for the day (it was a Monday)! This place is really cool in a sense that it is only open to children. Adults without children aren’t allowed in, which ensures the place isn’t overly crowded with the Botanical Garden crowd.

It was quite a large garden, with many play areas as well as educational corners. There was this area explaining photosynthesis.

And an area showing how this wooden instrument could make music..

.. which was all cool, but mommy & Wayne were more interested in the play areas!!!!

First, we played at the playground, all equipped with Wayne’s sand castle tools. Stepped onto the sand, and our little boy’s reaction? “Eeiiii… mommy, my feet is dirty!!!” “Rub it off, rub it off!” Look at his expression!! Good thing that lasted only for 5 minutes, after which he forgot about it and started digging at the sand with his rake and played like how a boy should. Phew.

Next came the water area… We came all prepared, with extra clothes for Wayne so that he could play at the water area. Alas…. Our little boy didn’t dare to play with the water!!!! Hahahaha…. After all mommy’s excitement at the thought of playing at the water area with Wayne, Wayne Wayne didn’t even dare to touch the water… mommy was so disappointed. Hahaha.

And so, after a hot 1 hour in the sun, which by this time Wayne's fringe was 'plastered' to his forehead, it was time for some cool ICE CREAM!!! Yum yum, Wayne is starting to know how to enjoy ice cream! *I want more!!!*

Hooray! Dad’s back!!

… With presents for Wayne & mommy!!

Mommy & Wayne waited patiently for daddy to appear at the luggage conveyor at T2.. Although it was past Wayne’s bedtime, today was an exception cos daddy has been in Hong Kong for the past 4 days and mommy & Wayne Wayne misses daddy lots!

Sleepy Wayne was all quiet & glum while waiting for daddy.. until he saw daddy through the glass window and immediately broke out in a grin!! “My daddy’s HOME!” And when daddy was out & pulled Wayne’s present from his bag.. Wayne gave such a BIG BIG smile cos it was DONALD!! Wayne’s favourite Donald Duck! Another one to his collection!!

We’ll add Minnie, Daisy & Pluto and Wayne’s collection will soon be complete!

And that’s not all that daddy brought back for Wayne! There was also a Mickey Mouse themed water bottle which Wayne so loves!

As for mommy.. hehe.. mommy had a figure hugging dress.. wow.. daddy bought a dress for mommy! And it fitted perfectly! *Impressed*

Thanks Daddy! Do you want to go away on holiday again? =p
