Once upon a time... Photoshoot!

Themed "Once upon a time..", this shoot was all about fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters: hansel and gretel, the boy who cried wolf, jack and the bean stalk, little red riding hood and etc. The idea of the kids in these cute settings were too adorable and mommy bring a fan of their recent works, quickly signed up for a slot. You'll be surprised how quickly the slots got taken up!! In fact, I was obviously not quick enough as I was on the waiting list and managed to secure a place only because they opened up an additional day of shooting, thanks to the overwhelming demand! Yay!

This was a kids-only shoot, and I was looking forward to some good shots of Wayne and Amanda! Wayne having been to shoots too-many-times (and easily bribed with toys and food he normally doesn't get too often - like chocolate and gummies) was a pro, flashing his smile on cue. Amanda on the other hand, was just stunned by the new environment and people around - she had on her most intense, serious look, it was impossible to get her to smile at all! So... that explains why Wayne had a 101 photos while Amanda just a few. Another not too successful attempt at having some decent sibling shots but overall we were pleased! It was a quick 20 minute shoot - easy and stress-free, definitely a plus point when you have two little ones in tow!

My only regret - we should have prioritized the settings we wanted. There wasn't enough time for all, and we missed out on Jack and the beanstalk, which Wayne had wanted to do!

Here are just some of the photos taken! Enjoy!

Sandwich

Such a simple act of engaging this little boy in some morning activity but it brought so much joy and satisfaction to him. He was proud to offer his helping hands, making sandwiches for us all this morning. We bought bread, ham, cheese and eggs the night before, and it was the first thing on his mind when he woke up this morning. His first words when he opened his eyes? "Momma, I'm all ready to make sandwiches!"and hurried out of bed. The small things in life that gets this boy happy and excited, isn't this how life should be? They are such a constant reminder to us to appreciate all these small moments in life and be happy.

In love with her shoes

I was so tickled by Amanda this morning. She's really my sweet funny girl.

These days, she knows how to bring her shoes to us and ask us to wear them for her. On naughty days, once she had her shoes on, she would go to our main door and point to it, wanting to go 'gai-gai'. Anyway this morning, she again brought her shoes to me and so I helped her put her shoes on - but without her socks.

I went round doing my stuff, and when I next looked at her, she was seated on the floor beside kor-kor's socks drawer with kor-kor's socks in her hands and she was trying to wear them over her shoes! Haha, she really got me laughing me away in amusement!

Getting ready to party - Party artwork!!!

07 August 2013

A surprise birthday party was in plan for our dearest grandma's 60th birthday, and all of us were busy as bees, getting all sorts of preparations done. Wayne included! Wayne was Chief Executive of Decorations, and here are evidences of him working real hard, coming up with the various DIY props!

His "Best Grandma!!" flag

Well trained in using 'sticky tape' (that's what he calls it!). He did a splendid job sticking the straws to the papers!

Yeah! SURPRISE grandma!

And this, of course, was for grandpa to present to his wife! Keke!

17 in all - Wayne had to fold each of them into half! Look at how pleased he was!

And a video he sent to yiyi and all, so everyone knew exactly what to do! Haha!

Party post coming right up!!!

Loving Zenyi

28 July 2013

One of mommy's best friends stays in Perth, and annually her month long holiday back to her hometown in Malaysia means we get to see her for a full day of fun and catch up. Its been 20 years we have known each other, since we were 13! Gosh... how old are we?!

Over the past years, we've seen each other one by one having kids, and now we each (yyn, yuwen and myself) have two little ones.. that makes 2 boys and 4 girls!

Wayne and Zenyi in particular, share this special bond, hitting it off from the first moment. Their first encounter was in  June 2010, where Wayne officially had his first crush.  He was just over a year old, and despite it being the first time meeting each other, he was literally all over her, hugging her. Definitely not in character, so I can only allude it to a special affinity he has with her. Fast forward 3 years later, and yes, they both still behaved as if they were the best of friends, as if they saw each other everyday.

July 2013

This year, we met up at Polliwogs, an indoor playground, just down the road from our place. We conveniently left the kids to play and we, mommies, chatted at the cafe within the playground compound. After 2 hours of fun, we all had a Japanese dinner and treated the kids to ice cream, while we celebrated Yyn's birthday. The kids had such awesome fun and so did we. Till the next year.

Soccer hero

I am so in love with this boy in red.

One of the downsides of sending him to his current preschool is that he gets next to zero sunlight on school days, which is inevitable as his school is within a shopping centre. So on weekends, we try to expose him to as much outdoors as we can.. and to sports! So here's our little budding soccer player in training.

Daddy being a soccer player himself, was pleased as punch to see his little boy following in his footsteps. I had some pretty good videos of Wayne in action - he totally loved the session! Hoping he grows into a confident little boy who loves sports and the outdoors.

Happy Children's Day!

To my two beautiful ones, Happy Children's Day!

Happy birthday, yiyi!

To my dearest baby sister, as much as you are a tyrant and spoilt brat, I do love you very much and I just want you to know on this special day.

Have an awesome birthday!

P/s : Thanks for loving the kids.

Our Caboodle Boil dinner in a pail

A mixture of Sri Lankan crabs, King crab legs, snow crab legs, lobsters, prawns, clams, sausages, corns and potatoes

The novelty of eating off the table, no plates, no cutleries - our fingers are all we need!

And so did Amanda eat off the table, with her very own snacks!

Tucking into the lobster!
