My maternity leave is passing by way too fast!

2 months and a week just flew past so quickly... way way too quickly. Another 3 weeks and I'll be back to work! Oh boy... mentally I feel so unprepared to go back to work!

The first month flew past really quickly because everything was so new to me. I was tired, sleepy, physically and mentally drained most of that one month. Spent most of my time feeding Wayne every 2 hours and changing his diapers every so often.. and in between trying to nap. Then there was the planning of his one month party, surfing the net on caterers, deco, full month gifts etc etc.

The second month was much better, I was getting used to the lack of sleep. Started paying more attention to my body and myself.. and as a consequence, started feeling down when I saw my flabby tummy and thighs and the stretch marks. Haha. And yes, I remember feeling so upset that I couldnt fit into my pre-pregnancy skirts and shorts still. I was pretty happy with my weight loss actually.. I had put on a total of 13.8kg during my pregnancy and by the end of the second month, I was left with 3kg to go. But in between, couldnt understand why I couldnt wear my old bottoms... Its better now, I can fit into most of my clothes, although they have gotten quite tight! =p Spent a few days of the second month on my Jamu massages as well.. which made going out on those days inconvenient as I had to wear the binder for at least 6-8 hours a day. Still, I managed to go out more often, spent a bit more 'er ren shi jie' time with Huakai. =) It was also in the second month that I moved back to HK's house, took a while to get use to it, slowly forming my own routine each day loving and caring for Wayne and going out occassionally.

And, I've also been shopping alot towards the end of the 2nd month... there was just so many things to buy. Spent a bomb really... Initially it was all the beauty products.. cos you just feel so lousy about your body.. hehe.. so there was the stretch mark creams, the slimming creams, the body scrubs etc etc.. you get the idea. =) Well that was for the body.. there was also those for the face - a whole new set of SKII products - the facial treatment essence, the whitening lotion, facial wash, eye cream...... And, now because I'm going back to work soon, there is also the wardrobe to update! Bought a couple of skirts so far and a pair of shoes, but thats about it.. going to Vivo this week to complete this 'mission'... Oh ya, there was also the hair that needed some work. 9 months not being able to color or do any chemical involving hair works, I finally got my hair rebonded and highlighted!=) And just today, I finally started my facial treatments again. And also ended up signing up for another package... You can imagine how high my credit card bills have been.. Hehe...

Hmm even after penning all these down, I still dont believe 2 months had passed. Sigh. I really must spend the remaining 3 weeks vey carefully. Still so many things that needs to be done... like catching up with all my friends whom I havent been able to meet, going to the gym with Nana, my Rustic massages..

I really wonder how it would be like once I go back to work.. would it be manageable balancing work and family life? Would I be tired from the night feeds? Would I be able to cope with late work nights? Most importantly, would I still have time for my little Wayne..? I'm sure after spending so much time with Wayne Wayne the past 2 months, its going to be tough for me.. I would surely miss him alot while I am at work.. Cos sometimes when I am out shopping for just a few hours, I'd already miss him so much. I really hope I'd still be able to spend lots of time with him. I really do not want to miss out watching him grow up because of work.. It would be quite sad wont it.. I certainly hope I will be able to be there with him at every stage of his life to guide him, teach him, influence him.. sharing and enjoying every precious moment of his life as he grows up.

Mommy loves you so so much darling... Mommy will really try very very hard to cope with both work and being there as much as possible for my little darling.

Mommy promises.....

Poor Wayne's down with fever after his jab!

Wayne Wayne had his 1st dose of the 6-in-1 jab due at 2 months.. and he was such a sweet brave boy!! When Dr Chan (yeps.. we changed paedi from Dr Ee to Dr Chan!) gave him the injection, he cried twice then stopped and was okie after that, smiling and looking around as usual. So brave! =)

But in the afternoon, he got a little cranky.. crying more often and needed to be carried all the time. It must have been the effects of the jab and he must have felt uncomfortable, my poor darling! And towards the evening, he developed a slight fever but after giving him his medicine, he was fine and slept throughout most of the night. By the next day, Wayne Wayne was his usual cheery self! Yay!

Ohh, you know during the jab, I was the one carrying him.. and when we got home in the afternoon when I carried him, he kept crying and he didnt seem to feel comforted by me (normally he does!).. and I was thinking whether Wayne Wayne was smart enough to link the fact that I was carrying him to the pain he felt during the jab? Maybe he felt it was me who inflicted the pain on him? Babies cant be that smart right??? Anyway, for the next jab, it would be daddy's turn to carry him!!! I dont want to be the bad person!! Hehehehe....

Love you baby!!!

Oh right, we changed paediatrician this time.. Dr Ee was okie but he shares the clinic with a few other doctors so his clinic is always really packed, with lots of kids, crying and running around.. and the waiting time is terrible.. the last time we visited, we had to wait a good 2 hours! Thats way too long.... So decided to switch to Dr Irene Chan at IKids, she was also recommended by Dr Lee, my gynae, and we were really happy with her. She was very nice, very reassuring and very very experienced. The waiting time was still quite long, at 1 hour on a Saturday but I guess its much better than at Kinderclinic where Dr Ee is. Dr Chan was also recommended by my colleague, Wei-Lyn, and it was such a coincidence that I bumped into her there as well! She brought her baby Emily for her one year jab.. sweet sweet Emily!!! And we even breastfed our babies together at the nursing corner while she updated me on the happenings at work! Missing all of them already!

Wayne misses grandma, grandpa and fei yi yi!!!

Wayne hasnt seen grandpa, grandma and fei yi yi for so long!! And, its all the H1N1 virus's fault!

First, fei yi yi went to Bangkok and then grandpa went to Bahrain, so they had to be quarantined at home! So Wayne Wayne couldnt go over to visit them.. its been almost 3 weeks!!! Wayne Wayne and mommy cant wait to go over this Thursday!!! 2 more days!! Yeah!!! Counting down!!!

This Thursday would be the 6th day since grandpa came back from Bahrain. Quarantine period is usually 7 days but because fei yi yi would be going to Redang on Thursday night, if we dont hurry go over on Thurs, we have to wait a few more days before she is back again!

Happy Father's Day!!

Its daddy's first Father's Day!!!

Wayne Wayne wishes daddy a very HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!! *Kiss kiss kiss* Since Wayne Wayne is not old enough to make daddy a card yet, mommy prepared a card for daddy on Wayne Wayne's behalf! When Wayne's older, mommy will teach you how to make a card for daddy k!

In celebration, Wayne Wayne, mommy & daddy went to Botanical Gardens for a stroll! We had planned to go to Dempsey's Dome for a drink first but it was fully packed, so in the end we went to Cafe Beviamo at Tanglin Mall, and had yummy iced chocolate, pizza and sandwich! After which, off we went to the Gardens for lotsa photo taking!!!!!!

Events of the day:

Started with Wayne Wayne taking a bath!

Then Wayne Wayne was all decked out in his blue and white outfit from Chateau de Sable, which was a pressie from Aunty Shimin! Looking handsome!!!

And just before hopping into the car, we had to take our family photo!! Daddy, mommy and Wayne Wayne all in blue and white stripes (its the theme of the day!!), don't we look good together???

Wayne Wayne and mommy posing together!

At Cafe Beviamo, where Wayne Wayne seeing mommy & daddy eating and drinking, also wanted to have his share!

And finally at Botanical Gardens.. mommy and precious Wayne!

Wayne Wayne and his precious daddy!

Our little Wayne.. not looking very comfortable actually.. Wayne Wayne's face looks squashed up! =p Look at my chubby chubby cheeks!

And, 'quan jia fu' time! Daddy, mommy and our sweet darling!

And finally home, clean and ready for bedtime after a quick bath.. Happy Father's Day again Daddy.. night night!

Wayne's two months old!!

Our little darling turns two months old today!! And how Wayne Wayne has grown and changed since a month ago!

At two months, Wayne Wayne is so much more responsive. During his first month, he spent most of his time just sleeping and feeding. Now, Wayne Wayne stays awake much longer.. and is much harder to look after now as compared to his first month!! But Wayne Wayne is also so much cuter now and more fun to play with! Oh but he cries more often too! Often, wanting either daddy or mommy to carry him. He is such a baby!!! =) Very 'teh"!! If we leave him in his cot alone and he isn't sleeping he will keep making 'eh eh eh' noises and can go on and on and on which eventually leads to him crying..but once we carry him up, he will stop (immediately!). And at times, he will even give you a sweet smile once you carry him in your arms, totally melting your heart. So although we try not to spoil him, sometimes its so difficult not to give in to him. Take last night for example, it was almost midnight and he was crying and crying wanting us to carry him. We decided to let him cry but he went on and on and gave us the very 'ke lian' face, with his lips curled downwards oh so cutely, and we ended up bringing him to our bed to sleep and he was fine immediately, staring at the ceiling, kicking his legs wildly, playing by himself. Thats our little boy for you... =)

And Wayne now has his playful moments too! He likes to play with his saliva now, making bubbles! And, I think he is learning to smile back when we smile at him now. So adorable!!!!!!!! =) But now that he knows how to play with saliva, he has started to do that with his milk too! When he has drank enough, he will start spitting out all the milk and it will drip all over his mouth and sometimes clothes too! So messy!!! Boys will always be boys.. messy!! Hehe..

Oh we just noticed that Wayne's eyelashes have grown out too!! Looks pretty long!! Think he has HK's lashes, mine are quite short!

Well, so thats a little about our precious Wayne Wayne at two months old!

Its the end of my confinement

Finally after 40 days of confinement, its over!

Well, I didn't follow very strictly the confinement "rules" but I must say its been quite tough! For me, the tough part was not being able to go out!! Although, I managed to go out here & there, for paedi check ups, gynae check ups, my wedding anniv etc.. its still different cos you cant go out freely for shopping etc etc.. But I must say, I'm quite fortunate to have my mom do my confinement for me. It would have been even tougher if I had hired a confinement nanny!

Confinement food actually turned out to be quite nice! Lots of ginger and 'ma yu'.. yummy! And I still bathed almost everyday in the herbal water! So it wasnt too bad!

But still, I'm glad its over and now I can eat my favourite desserts and go shopping!!! Yippee!!

Photoshoot at one month old!

Wayne Wayne had his first photoshoot today! Well, although we take photos for Wayne almost every single day (hehe!), this is his first professional shoot!

The photoshoot was by Sean Lau Photography, and was held at Sean's home at Sengkang, which he had converted into a studio for photoshoots as well. Sean was great! We arrived at his home at 2pm and the shoot lasted till 6pm. It was not easy getting Wayne Wayne to cooperate! We had to break for milk time twice and had to try to get Wayne Wayne to sleep! Nevertheless, the photos turned out great! Love them so much!! Wayne Wayne looked so adorable in them! The props used were so cute, there was Wayne on a weighing machine and Wayne lying down on a set of towels piled up holding on to a flower!

Am so glad we had the photoshoot cos babies just grow up so so fast. Each week, Wayne Wayne's features seem to have changed. Huakai and I were just commenting that although it has only been a month, he looks so different from his initial few days! So having this photoshoot is a really good way to capture our little Wayne's "infant" look. Can't wait for more photoshoots for him as he grows older!

Wayne's one month old!

HAPPY ONE MONTH OLD LITTLE WAYNE!!! Mommy and daddy’s so proud of you!! Lots of love and kisses from mommy & daddy, darling!!

Today we also had to go for your second paediatrician visit at Dr Ee’s. Wayne Wayne weighs a good 3.81kg now, up 1.3kg from your birth weight. Well done darling!! You have grown taller by 4.5cm too, measuring 54.5cm. And Wayne's head circumference is now 36cm, up 3cm from birth! Dr Ee also noticed that Wayne Wayne's tummy was a little rounder than normal, and had alot of wind inside, so he prescribed colic drops for you.. which each time mommy puts it into your mouth, Wayne Wayne will cringe and sometimes let out a small cry! But Wayne Wayne is a brave brave boy, mommy is sure Wayne Wayne will be able to get used to the taste very soon!

Here's a picture of grandma getting your height readings!

And little Wayne on the weighing scale! Grow grow grow baby!

First month party

Our little Wayne at his first month celebration!
O

Come this 20th, our little Wayne would be turning a month old! In celebration we had a mini party for our sweet baby. It was just a small party with our family and relatives. Huakai and myself would have loved to throw a big party with all our friends present. However, with the H1N1 virus going round plus the fact that we couldn’t find an appropriate venue.. we had to give this a miss. Felt a little disappointed cos we wanted to thank all our friends who had visited us and gave us so many lovely gifts! Have to wait for Wayne’s one year old party then!!! =)

Nevertheless, had a good time with our family and relatives! It was held at the function room at my parent’s place. Unfortunately, Huakai’s mom and brother couldn’t make it.. his mom wasn’t feeling well and Jerome had to work on that day. Catered food from Thaipan and ordered the full month cakes from Sweetest Moments. Also got some balloons to decorate the function room.

Here's the cake from Sweetest Moments:

And some polaroids we took on that day:

Happy family all in blue! =)

Mommy & precious Wayne!

And, this is our little Wayne's trademark sleeping position! =)=)=)

Wayne and his cute little antics

Wayne Wayne is so cute.. as usual today after feeding, baby was making alot of "erh erh erh" sound and had your face all scrunched up.. then baby let out a very loooong fart.. then, as if showing how satisfying letting out that fart was, baby then stretched out both your hands and placed it by your ears and fell asleep in that position. Baby is always farting after every meals.. hehe.. mommy & daddy always laughs whenever you fart. Sometimes it is really loud and goes on for very long. So endearing... hehe.

Baby also really likes to stretch out your hands and legs.. each time mommy or daddy swaddles you, you will try your best to get your hands out. And sometimes, mommy will just observe you.. stretching and pushing your hands against the swaddle repeatedly, until you manage to get at least one of your hands out. Baby really amazes mommy with your determination. Cos you can go on and on, sometimes for as long as half an hour, not giving up until your hands are out!

Actually, come to think of it, it has only been 3 and a half weeks since baby arrived into this world. But, baby has grown & developed so much since. When you were first out, baby slept most of the time. Then slowly, baby started to open your eyes for longer periods each time. And now, baby's eyes will dart around actively whenever you are awake. And baby has also started to make alot of cooing sounds. And baby always make the funniest expressions! Mommy & daddy really enjoy observing you. You really are our precious little darling.

Wayne was supposed to arrive today

Today is little Wayne's EDD.. 9 May 2009. Just a day before our wedding anniversary. Instead, Wayne is already 21 days old!

A photo of daddy, mommy & Wayne taken today.

Wayne Wayne was such a good boy today!

Wayne Wayne was such a good boy today. After your last feed last night at 1130pm, Wayne Wayne only woke up once to feed at 3am and the next time was at 7am already. Normally Wayne Wayne will wake up at least 3 times to feed in the middle of the night, usually around 1am, 330am, and 530am/6am. Wayne Wayne knows mommy & daddy have been very tired lately from the night feeds. Is that why Wayne Wayne woke up only once? Mommy’s sweet little baby boy. Mommy & daddy love you a lot! Wayne Wayne must continue to sleep longer in the night and wake up only once every night to feed, just like today, oki?

After being discharged from the hospital, we had gone straight to my mom's place where I am doing my confinement. So today, we decided to bring Wayne home to his yeye & nainai's house! His first time there!

Spent the Saturday afternoon at HK's home. Unfortunately, Wayne darling was sleeping throughout the afternoon so he probably didn't get to see much. But yeye and nainai got to see Wayne Wayne alot!

And here are some photos of Wayne Wayne with mommy & daddy at the living room!

Wayne's umbilical cord has dropped off

After 8 days, finally Wayne Wayne’s umbilical cord had dropped off!

Mommy discovered it when changing Wayne’s diapers early in the morning at 7am, thankfully the portion that dropped off was safe and sound in Wayne’s swaddling blanket.

Mommy & daddy have kept the umbilical cord in a small plastic zip-lock bag and kept it in Wayne Wayne’s scrapbook. Mommy will show it to little Wayne Wayne when you grow up next time, oki? Mommy loves you little Wayne Wayne. This umbilical cord was what connected you to mommy when you were still inside mommy’s womb. And through this, mommy supplied you with blood and oxygen, that kept precious little Wayne Wayne alive in mommy’s womb. That is why this umbilical cord holds special meaning for both mommy & daddy, you know that little Wayne Wayne?

Paediatrician visit #1

Wayne had his first visit to his paediatrician today! Together with mom, Elaine, Viv and Kenneth, we went to Kinderclinic at Paragon to see Dr Kenny Ee.

Wayne is now 2.69kg - yippee, Wayne is growing! At birth, he was 2.565kg; day 4 on discharge, he was 2.375kg and today, on day 7, he is 2.69kg. This means mommy is feeding Wayne well!

Wayne also had his jaundice level checked today - his jaundice readings were within acceptable levels! Relieved. =) And, Wayne was such a brave little boy. He needed to have his heel pricked to measure his jaundice level, and Wayne did not cry! According to mom, there were two other babies before him, and they were wailing when they had their heels pricked. Brave little Wayne just made some noise for a few seconds but didnt cry! Mommy's so proud of you!!!
