Birthday party

Happy third birthday to Lele!

Lele is Wayne's schoolmate and he celebrated his birthday at his home, something different as the other kids all had their celebration with school friends in Mindchamps. It was fun meeting all the other kids somewhere other than in school.

Those who attended were Caeley, Micaela, Felicia and Wayne. Even Miss Afiqah dropped by to pass Lele his birthday present, unfortunately she couldn't stay for long as she had an appointment. Such a nice gesture of her to drop by even though she was busy. When she arrived, all the kids flocked to her for hugs - a testament of how much they love her, which says a lot as it gives us mommies and daddies much assurance that our little kiddo is happy in school and in good hands. And that's what matters most to us, isn't it?

We were first to arrive and Wayne was really happy to be at Lele's house. I suspect it was because Lele had a huge collection of toys!!! Wayne just kept playing with all the toys including the train set which he gave to Lele as present. We had bought Lele a Thomas train set (as he loves Thomas too) and a shirt n pants outfit.

There was a theme for his party and it was the color yellow, as that's Lele's favorite color. So Wayne was decked in an orangy-yellow shirt. And guess what the birthday boy wore? Together with his daddy, they wore matching Bruce Lee outfits. They sure had a good sense of humor!

We had a good time chatting with the other parents, mainly with Micaela's mommy who was really nice to talk to. She told us they would be going back to Norway some time mid of next year and we were so upset to hear that as I'm sure Wayne would miss Micaela loads!!

As for meimei yes she attended the party too (also in yellow!) but slept throughout!

After the party, Wayne told us that he also wants to invite his friends for his birthday party next year. When daddy told him we will do that but in school, Wayne said no he wanted his party outside too. I think daddy didn't want the hassle but Mommy promised him that we would, without batting an eyelid. Anything to make my little precious happy. :)

Highlight of the party was of course the cake cutting and singing of the birthday song for Lele!

Thomas and the Hidden Treasure

We have been talking about this Thomas and Friends stage show for weeks! 

Being the Thomas fan that Wayne is, when we saw the advertisements for this show, we knew we couldn't possibly not bring him to the show. And boy, are we glad.. cos firstly, Wayne enjoyed it tremendously and secondly, we discovered that Wayne was no longer scared! 

Scared of what, you are wondering? Well, Wayne grew up being always afraid of anything with loud music or large crowds. So from young, concerts, church services, wedding dinners, performances (even those at shopping centers) all got him screaming away. Even when I was booking the tickets for this show, I was a bit apprehensive, unsure if he would even want to go into the hall. We took a gamble, and I'm glad that not only did he not say he was afraid, he participated in everything that the Fat Controller asked the kids to during the show! Momma was so proud of Wayne.

It turned out to be a really enjoyable musical, for mommy and Wayne at least (I caught daddy falling asleep during the second half of the show.. tsk tsk! =)). Wayne sang along to the many Thomas and Friends songs (thanks to the many hours he spends on the iPad), swaying his body and clapping his hands. And when the Fat Controller asked the kids to shout out to the engines, Wayne shouted the loudest. He really enjoyed himself.

And here are some of the other photos we took that day before the show. After 'depositing' Amanda at nai nai's, we headed to the airport for lunch. Really appreciate time spent alone with Wayne, as sometimes we get too caught up caring for Amanda that we neglect him. Sometimes, he just wants to talk to us and I hate that I'm not able to give him my 100% and listen to him. I'm cherishing days out with him like this!
