Wayne goes to the ZOO!

Wayne has been able to recognize quite a few animals now, at home when we ask him where is the doggie or moo moo cow or fish fish, he'd be able to show us where they are by looking at the animals. Same for when we ask him where's the 'bird bird' that's on his bumper mat. So we decided it's time to show Wayne the real animals! Where else, but at the zoo!

So on boxing day, early in the morning, we all went to the zoo - mom, Elaine, Mich, Terry & a few of his relatives. It was pretty fun! Mommy loves the zoo!!! We showed little Wayne so many animals - mommy's personal favourite was the red backside baboons! Hehe! And the tigers were so majestic too! And the polar bears - beautiful! There were also the many animal shows to entertain us!

Wayne didn't seem too interested in the animals though, perhaps a tad young still. He was more interested in playing with his portable fan which we clipped onto his stroller to keep him cool! :) Guess he still likes his stuff toy animals better!! Though he wasn't that interested in the animals, I think he still enjoyed the trip looking at the nice scenery & the crowd. So mommy & daddy plan to bring you to the zoo again a few months later! Wayne Wayne will love it! And, mommy feels its such a good place to let you learn about the many animals!

When you are older, we will all go on the animal rides too k, baby? That will be so so fun!!!!

And before we left the zoo, we bought Wayne Wayne a little monkey! After a few times of telling Wayne that is a monkey, when mommy asks little Wayne "Where is the monkey?", Wayne Wayne will look at the monkey immediately - CLEVER boy!!!!!!!

Moo moo cow!

Xmas Special Part 4 : Preparing for the Xmas Family Party

This year we decided to have our first family xmas party, at our very own home! Mommy got all excited, making sure it was a proper xmas party & not just an ordinary xmas dinner get together. Afterall, it was Wayne Wayne's first xmas party!

Therefore, weeks before, mommy started all the preparations!

Here are some details:

First, there was the must-have xmas tree which mommy spent alot of time decorating and making sure it was just perfect! And of course, the many presents under the tree!

Few weeks before, we also drew lots for the xmas presents exchange! We had a budget of $50 per person and although it was supposed to be hush hush who you were buying the present for, some in the family (you know who you are!) couldn't stop themselves and started digging info from others while some accidentally let slip the secret in the weeks leading to the party! By the time xmas was here, I think we knew at least half of who was buying for who!

Moving on, there was the xmas invite specially sent out (via email =) to get everyone excited!

Next was making sure we had the right music - so HK dug out all his old xmas CDs. =)

The menu was all planned out in advance too, with everyone of us preparing something! Here's a peak at our sumptuous xmas dinner menu!

Chef Grandpa - Log cake
Chef Grandma - Lobster salad & Oreo Ice cream
Chef Mich - Garlic Butter Salmon & Mango Prawns
Chef Terry - Seafood Soba
Chef Rach - Mocktails & Cocktails
Chef HK - Steak
Chef Viv - Baked potatoes
Chef Ken - Steamed Veggie
Chef Elaine - Ham

And, with all the food, mommy just had to make sure we had the right table settings to go along too! So we got nice red and green napkins and wine glasses for abit of xmas cheering!

And, mommy got Santa hats for everyone! To complement the santa hats, we had a dress theme too! All the gals in red and the guys in green! Check out the photos in my next entry - our family photos looked really good with us all in our hats and red green combo!

Mommy also surprised everyone with party bags, with various goodies and pressies inside! And prepared the games for the night - which was Pictionary!

And lastly, there was also getting Wayne's little Santa outfit to surprise everyone at the party!

With all the above, we were all ready for our first annual family xmas party !!! Cheers to XMAS 2009!

Xmas Special Part 3 : Wayne becomes Santa for the day!

Wayne is Santa! Much to the delight of those who saw him! He does look really really cute doesn't he? Our sweet little boy. Think he enjoyed his outfit too, cos each time he puts it on he'll give me that adorable laugh. Oh but not the Xmas hat though! Absolutely dislikes anything to be on his tiny head! It's rather cute actually. Each time I put the hat on his head, he'll get really irritated and start to grab the hat, trying to pull it off. Gets very 'mang zhang'!

Hi everyone, merry xmas!

Mommy I don't like wearing the hat!!!! *angry face*

I can take off my hat myself!

Since each time we placed the hat on him, he'd yank it off the next minute, we decided to let Wayne Wayne wear a santa hairband instead! Haha! Courtesy of aunty Vivien!

Although he didnt mind the hairband on his little head as much as the santa hat, Wayne was still happiest without anything on his head!!

MERRY XMAS EVERYONE!

Xmas Special Part 2 : Thanksgiving

The year is coming to an end very soon.. reflecting back, 2009 has been a really good year for me. I truly feel very thankful for many things in my life. Since 2006, there has been so many good things happening in my life that I cant help but just feel very grateful. I think everything went on a high since the time Huakai proposed to me. We spent most of 2007 preparing for our wedding. There were the gowns, banquet, flowers, rings and so many more to take care of. And then in May 2008, we had our dream wedding and went on the most fantastic honeymoon in Alaska and Canada. Shortly, in Aug 2008, I got pregnant and then we spent the next 9 months preparing for the arrival of our sweet son. And all the while, things were going good in every other aspects of our lives, like our work, family and friends. With weddings and pregnancies, all good news and happy moments, its hard not to feel that I am at the peak of my life.

So therefore, I feel I'm at a point in my life now where I am happiest. I feel contented, happy and most of all thankful for the life that I have now. Of course, I hope to achieve more in life if I could, but really, being where I am now.. I think I'd be happy for the next 10 years at least.

Well a big part contributing to the 'high' in my life is from being a mommy this year. I think all moms out there would probably be able to understand. Its just this incredulously satisfying feeling of caring and bringing up your little one which gives you such a sense of joy and satisfaction. Just a smile from little Wayne is able to warm my heart entirely and make me feel all the sleepless nights and sacrifices are well worth it. The happiness is indescribable. Actually, it makes me wanna have a second child soon, like now. Instead of 2 to 3 years later. The only thing holding me back is the fact that, that would mean having to split my attention away from Wayne. Its like I havent had enough of him and with another baby, I'd have to cut my time with him by half or more.

Anyway, here are just some of the best things in my life:

1) The greatest husband I could ever ask for. A husband that makes me laugh every day (with his lame jokes). A husband that cheers me up when I am feeling down. A husband that shares the household chores, does the dirty work that I dislike, like cleaning the toilet. A husband that ferries me around, run errands for me, all without a complaint. A husband that dotes on me, loves me, and places me in his thoughts all the time. And most of all, a husband that makes me feel like the greatest wife and mother in the world, when I am clearly NOT.

2) The cutest, most adorable little son. Little Wayne, you are so perfect in mommy's eyes. The sweetest little boy, who has taught and shown mommy what unconditional love is all about. Before you, mommy never knew I was capable of loving someone so much. Even at your naugthiest, mommy cant help but love you with ALL my heart. And, even your poo smells so good to mommy!

3) My wonderful close knit family. They are fun, loving, supportive and just the greatest bunch of people I could ever ask for in a family. Dad, Mom, Mich, Terry, Viv, Ken and Elaine. I love you guys to bits.

4) A job that allows me to work 4 day weeks, which gives me the flexibility to spend more time with Wayne. A job that I'm fairly comfortable with and which I don't hate. And which pays me enough money for my shopping. =) A boss that is understanding, appreciative and easy to work with. A team that is ever supportive.

5) And lastly, I am thankful for the good health of the people around me. I think thats of the most importance. And I pray always, good health will always be with us.

So as 2010 approaches, I really hope that all these happy moments in my life will stay and when the year comes to an end again, I can once again say I am thankful for a great 2010.

Lots of photos at Gymboree class!

While mommy thought Kindermusik was fun, Gymboree was even more fun! Here, Wayne got to play with alot of equipments- various soft rubbery tubes, slides, balls and bouncy stuff! Like Kindermusik, there were lots of music, moving around and bonding with mommy and daddy! This time, daddy got to come in and play with us too!

The class was pretty small, just 5 babies. It was a pretty good size, because there were so few babies, we could spend alot of time on the equipment. Perhaps if there were more people, we'd have to wait for our turns? Not sure. Anyway, it was great fun! And I especially love to see Wayne interact with other babies. He is pretty gentle, often touching their faces very gently! Love the babies!!!

Wayne was such a cool boy - didnt make much noise and just followed the class activities, enjoying himself! And, we found out while sitting down, Wayne could pull himself up to a standing position! Clever boy!!

Got lots and lots of photos here!! Wow, actually looking through all the photos, I wonder how we managed to do so much in just 45 minutes!

Mommy’s personal favourite activity was the big rolling cylinder which the babies had to push along. It was so cute seeing all of them in a row pushing the cylinder!

After the whole session, mommy & daddy were exhausted! Really really tired though it was just 45 minutes. Mommy’s arms felt like logs after that. Looks like mommy & daddy has to buck up on our fitness in order to keep up with Wayne next time!!

Started with Wayne having a sticker with his name on his back!
And we were free to roam in the gym before class started..

See daddy, I can stand!
Heartwarming pix with daddy!

I'm in the shape sorter! I am SQUARE!

Practising my crawl..

Mommy & I at the end of the looooong colorful tunnel!

Mommy playing with me!

Wayne loved the balls! He kept grabbing more than one at the same time..

Dancing time!

Mommy's favourite activity!

Look at this big ball!

Wayne crawled so fast chasing after this big ball!

And up the slope we go!

This was fun! Wobbly big ball!

Relaxing on my rocking chair!

So cute!

Wayne was sitting on this wobbly instrument when he lost his balance and fell sideways and got a little scared after that, wanting mommy to carry him! But next moment, I think he forgot about the incident and continued enjoying himself!

Wayne on a boat that rocks! It was here that Wayne pulled himself up into this standing position without any help from us!

Wayne's friends joining him on the boat - hey look at what my Indian friend is doing to me! He is trying to pull my hair! Just like how i always pull mommy's hair!

He's also trying to attack my face! Look at the number of hands that come stretching out to protect me!

Soccer time! Daddy & Wayne's favourite game!
Look at the bubbles!!

Teacher blowing a big bubble for little Wayne!

All the cuties on the parachute! Wayne likes his Indian friend. =)

Exercising with Gymbo..

The babies got under the parachute while the mommies and daddies lifted the parachute..
Look at my scared face!!! The parachute's falling onto my face!

Saying bye bye to Gymbo & all my friends!
Family photo before we leave..
