Goaties, Froggies & Veggies.. all in a day!

Its National Day today and that means mommy & daddy doesn't have to work! Yippee!!!

So where did we bring Wayne today? To Kranji Countryside!!!!! If you are wondering what's there, lots!!! Well, before surfing the internet on it, mommy never knew there were so many interesting farms to explore there! It sure was an interesting day for mommy, daddy & Wayne!

First stop was this goat farm called Hay Dairies Goat Farm.

Contrary to what most people think, no it was not smelly! Wayne Wayne got to see hundreds and hundreds of goats! Papa goats, mama goats and baby goats! All sizes and color.

And, wow, it was fun to see the milking of the goats! Exactly like how mommy used to express milk out for little Wayne. Hmm... it was just 7 months ago when mommy last did that, but it seems like a pretty long time ago. You know, the process is exactly the same for goats.. first, the handlers cleaned the udders and teats of the goat, squeezed out the initial few drops of milk to be thrown away, placed the 2 electric pumps over the teats, and that oh-so-familiar pumping sound was heard.. and the milking begins, from the tubes to this container where the milk was stored. wow... thats almost the exact same steps mommy did.

Gosh look how big the udders are.. totally ENGORGED!!!! Ready for milking!!
The plastic pumps to replace manual milking with the hands..

The container storing the freshly expressed milk.. Hahaha... after the milking, totally deflated .. (same as mommy! =(=(=( hahaha)
Little Wayne having fun watching the goats!

Fresh goat's milk for sale..

We also bought a bottle of goat's milk to try.. mommy was not brave enough to try it, but daddy did! Finished the whole bottle. No trying for Wayne either!

Next stop was to the Jurong Frog Farm, which was a real disappointment. Not worth visiting at all, there were just many ugly frogs all cooped up in dirty looking cubicles... eeii.. mommy doesnt like live frogs. After seeing them, mommy doesnt feel like eating my favourite Geylang frog porridge anymore!
Where they multiply..
See.. hundreds of frogs cooped up in this ugly dirty cubicle
Frogs captured for sale.. so gross... all the frogs just bundled up in these green netting
Frogs for sale... eeii.. not after seeing them alive.. slimy and all.
So off we went to our last stop.. which was the Bollywood Veggies! Mommy liked this place very much!!! This farm was an eye opener! It was decorated real nice & interesting. There were all kinds of vegetables here, fruits, veggie, herbs etc.... most of which mommy & daddy have never seen before! Wayne Wayne could only recognise his favourite bananas hanging on the trees!

After touring the farm, we had our lunch at the restaurant at the farm, called Poison Ivy, named after the owner of the farm, Ivy Singh-Lim. The food was yummy and fresh from the farm. Wayne Wayne had his share of cauliflower, tofu and brocolli with rice for lunch!

And with that ended our morning farm excursion. Nature rocks!!!
