For the first time, mommy attended Shichida lessons with little Wayne. Its already Lesson 5 today and mommy's first time. Sigh. Mommy feels terrible. Given a choice, mommy would rather not work and mommy can then invest more time with Wayne. But since thats not possible, thankfully there is fei yiyi around to bring Wayne for his class! Thanks fei yiyi!!!
Back to lessons.. mommy really enjoyed the class!!! It turned out better than what mommy thought. Little Wayne responded really well too. Good job darling!
There were many different kind of activities in that short 75 minutes. Flash cards, singing songs in various languages (Jap, English, Malay, Thai), finger play, pretend play, abacus, ESP and many others! For little Wayne, he enjoyed pretend play the most! Some of the activities Wayne loved:
- Hanging shirts on the clothes line
- Counting on the abacus
- Hanging cardboard pictures on the wall
- Singing ABC
- Moving the ship around
- Feeding the lions with meatballs
- Making toast with butter
When it was ABC singing time, Wayne Wayne started smiling and doing his signature dance, which is to rock side to side with both his palms facing up. When the teacher introduced how lions roar, Wayne Wayne kept making his monster sound - his way of roaring. When it was time to steer the ship, Wayne Wayne went 'vroom' while doing the driving action. When it was time to hang the shirts on the clothes line using the clothes peg, Wayne Wayne kept poking his little finger into the hole of the clothes peg, as he always does at home.
Wayne was the most vocal in the class. He would keep calling out ah ah ah.. sometimes to the teacher, sometimes to mommy and sometimes to his neighbours. During the activities he was not so interested in, he'd be tapping the lap and hands of the uncle who was sitting beside mommy. Hehe. He was really happy during the lesson, smiling away. I think the pumpkin bread just before his lesson really helped!! As Wayne is happiest when his little tummy is FULL!
Mommy is really glad you seem to be enjoying the class darling. Have lots of fun learning baby!!
