Inspired by mommy & daddy's cooking lesson last month, it was Wayne's turn for some hardcore training in baking, together with his friend Chloe!
Hehe. It was probably more a case of nothing came out of mommy & daddy's cooking lesson, hence, we decided to invest in someone with a bit more potential than us.
Wayne does look the part, doesn't he?
Mommy has to thank Aunty Shimin for organizing this for Wayne. Chloe is a regular at this class and Aunty Shimin had invited little Wayne to join Chloe and.. Wayne sure did have fun!! Little kaypoh enjoyed following the chef's instructions and baking his fruit tarts, the end product of which he was so proud of.
Thanks Aunty Shimin and little Chloe!!!
We were early! Waiting for the class to start with the other kids.
Managing a smile while constantly asking if he could start soon..
The chef introducing the various ingredients to the kids.. don't think they were very interested!
Chloe has arrived!! That's sweet little Chloe in the left of this picture. Both kids taking the class very seriously already!
First step, pouring sugar in the flour and mixing them together.
Butter and eggs and a weighing scale.. all ready for fruit tarts!
Throwing in the butter ..
..and cutting them into pieces
Using their hands, the kids then squashed the whole mixture together, finally putting it in a container to be chilled. Wayne refused to use both hands, he didn't want to dirty both hands.
See how Chloe is doing it like a professional?
6 foils each for the kids. Wayne diligently counting to make sure he had 6. Chloe looking on so cutely.
Their dough were ready to be measured, 20 grams into each of the baking foil!
Uncle Kenneth guiding both Chloe and Wayne in measuring the dough!
Once the magic number 20 was reached, the kids rolled the dough into balls and placed it into the foil
Wayne's dough all ready to be placed into the oven!
Aunty Shimin explaining to Wayne & Chloe what was going to happen next
Then it was time to prepare the custard, starting with pouring water into the custard powder
And then stirring
Happy!
Next step, the kids were given a plate of fruits to cut up so that they could decorate their tarts. I think Wayne loved this bit the best
Wayne decorating his tarts..
.. he must have resisted for a long time, before asking me if he could eat one of the grapes! He took two.
Ta-dah.. his tarts are ready! Sharing a moment with Aunty Shimin.
Colorful, pretty fruit tarts!
Packing them in a box so that he could proudly show daddy his creation!
And posing for a picture with Chloe - with their certificates no less!
Wow, certificate of achievement. Well done Wayne and Chloe!!!
We savoured the tarts in the afternoon, with Wayne picking out all the fruits to eat!
It was a fun morning for Wayne - thanks again Aunty Shimin, Uncle Kenneth & little Chloe!! Till the next time!
