We made a trip to Goodrich today to confirm our wallpaper and platform laminate. I was wowed by their selection! It made me want to stay there all day just flipping through everything they have. It was overall quite an enjoyable experience we had at Goodrich, the sales staff was helpful in narrowing down our choices and I was pleasantly surprised with their quick turnaround time.
It was also
one-stop convenience having Goodrich offer both carpets and laminates on top of
their wallpapers. We had initially intended for the platform in the kids’ room
to be covered with carpet for that cosy warm feeling, and of course with
carpets they could jump up and down and it wouldn’t be too noisy. But Amanda’s
spout of vomiting just 2 weeks before when she was down with viral infection,
made us change our mind. Though we both love the idea of carpets, the maintenance
and cleaning up (of vomit – yikes!!) involved was enough to deter us. So
we decided to go for Pergo laminates in white instead. It was quite pretty
still, with slight wood grains on the laminate; and the white blended in well
with the wardrobes and white blinds we chose.
While we
are usually hesitant in bringing two kids along (experience tells us they slow
down our selection process by 70%), the kids were surprisingly well behaved.
Well, they were running and monkeying around as usual (led by Wayne, with
Amanda copying every silly things he does), but we managed to keep them in
check. It certainly helped that the area was so spacious. We took a few photos
during some waiting time, and I love how the kids look so lovely.
Amanda being cheeky, playing with korkor here.
I tried to get Wayne involved in the selection of the wallpapers for his room, passing him a gigantic book to flip through, thinking it would occupy him for at least five minutes but I was wrong. He ended up sulking, as he wanted his wallpapers to be of Ninja Turtles and of course.. there wasn’t anything close to that. He gave up finding Ninjas and complained that he didn’t like the selection there. So haha, this is him sulking below.
Another item settled!
