Day 4 of our holiday and the fun has just begun! Mommy was looking forward to this part of the trip alot - the start of our self-drive holiday to the outskirts of Sydney! While Sydney city was nice, mommy much prefers going out into the beautiful nature to take in sights and scenery that we cant find in Singapore!
First stop after having our brekkie was to Hertz which again was so conveniently located about 10 minutes walk from our hotel.
Even our little boy knew how to make himself comfortable in our rented car... propping up his little feet on the luggage while he slept throughout the ride to Hunter Valley...
Home for the next 2 nights was at Crowne Plaza. The hotel had a resort feel and even within the hotel, the view was just awesome. Combined with the cool weather, no matter how uptight a person you were, you'd just totally loosen up & relax here. Perfect.
In our itinerary for today was the Hunter Valley Gardens! Wayne entertained himself with Thomas the Train while we made our way to the Gardens, just 5 minutes from our hotel.

The garden was filled with characters from story books & nursery rhymes such as Jack & Jill, Humpty Dumpty and lots more. I'll let the pcitures do the talking. =)

However, mommy must add, the garden is really in need of some upgrading! Cute as they were, they were rather old looking & most characters had some paint chipped off. Nevertheless it was fun walking through the storybook garden.

Next stop, was the Hunter Valley Garden Village where mommy being a chocolate lover, had to visit the famous Hunter Valley Chocolate Company. We had the super rich super thick hot chocolate drink & mommy bought some chocolates to try as well. Good stuff.
And then, it was time for some fun for Wayne at the playground. The playground had a small water area, where you could control the water sprinkling out with some buttons & joysticks.
As we had come to realise after a few nights in Australia, after 5pm, Australia becomes really quiet. Except for restaurants, all shops were closed by evening. Even more so in Hunter Valley where there are hardly any shops.. so dinner was back at our hotel where (again!!) mommy had risotto & dad had his steak!! Dad really had his share of Australian beef during this trip.
The scenic lake just outside the gardens. Weather was so awesome, cool with blue blue skies above us.
As for the rest of the garden, hmm.. after visiting Butchart Gardens at Victoria Island in Canada, this pales in comparison.
