Its day 5 of our trip.. How quickly time passes when we are enjoying ourselves!
Today, we made our way to Port Stephens which was about an hour’s drive away from Hunter Valley! The weather was pretty hot, which made it so perfect to be at Port Stephens, but alas, we were so so unprepared!! No shorts, no tank top, no swim wear!!!! Sigh!! Mommy was so upset! The weather forecast showed the weather to be between 10-18 degrees, not beach perfect weather at all! So, unfortunately, we didn’t pack any shorts and swimwear for this trip! Which was really such a waste cos we could have really enjoyed playing in the water and by the beach. And of course, mommy did look really silly wearing my boots there. Sigh.
But still, today was one of the nicest days of our holidays, after Blue Mountains which was even more perfect.

Anyway, once at Port Stephens, we excitedly bought cruise tickets to watch dolphins! Port Stephens is after all home to many dolphins!

Then, we had a quick brunch by the beach & it was time for our 2 hour dolphin watch cruise. It was lovely. Very scenic and we had so much fun spotting the dolphins. We spotted quite a few dolphins and the boat went pretty up close so it was really nice. Even Wayne happily looked out for dolphins and screamed when he spotted them diving in and out of the water. The boat had a boom net which looked so fun! Sigh, if only we had brought our swim wear and extra sets of clothes, mommy would surely jump into the boom net! Or perhaps not, given that the water was so cold! Nevertheless, the cruise was really enjoyable.

Next stop then was to Stockton sand dunes. Wow, once we stepped out of the car, we were completely taken aback by the awesome view in front of us. Acres of sand in front of us and the prettiest beach ever. There were so many things to do here, sliding down the sand dunes, camel rides, horse rides, ATV rides, and chilling by the beach. In fact, mommy & daddy regretted not staying a night at Port Stephens. We could have taken our time to enjoy all these activities, it would have been really memorable – next time we should!!!!!! =)

Before we could really enjoy ourselves at the sand dune, it was time to head back to Hunter Valley for our last planned activity for the day, which was to visit the De Bortoli winery! There, daddy & mommy enjoyed a bottle of moscato, sitting outside the winery, taking in the view in the cool weather, watching low flying planes zoom past us.

And then, it was dark again, and it was time for dinner – pizza, beef burger and grilled chicken for little Wayne! How quickly the day ended!!
