Acceptance

We have all heard of horror stories of sibling jealousy, which happens when the only child is suddenly faced with another baby who happens to be taking every single second of precious mommy & daddy's time. Does not help that everyone who visit fusses over the baby - like the grandparents, uncles & aunties, friends - all bearing lots of pressies for little baby.

Will it happen with wayne?

Not sure.. But mommy will try my best not to let it happen. Mommy has read up on tips to make Wayne feel included, excited and happy to welcome little Amanda. Mommy just hope that works.

It will hurt mommy so much knowing that Wayne feels left out or thinks that mommy & daddy no longer loves & cares for him as much, cos nothing could be further from the truth. Wayne will always be our precious little boy.

So for a start, mommy has been prepping Wayne with alot of meimei conversations. And it does seem to be working. Wayne has been such a sweetie when it comes to meimei, often telling me he loves meimei, frequently kissing and stroking my tummy. He would also include meimei in his conversations with me.. just last night, he was playing with his pirate ship and he told me, "I will show meimei my pirate ship when meimei come out, momma. And meimei will be surprised. Meimei will ask 'whats a pirate ship??' *using his inquisitive tone while frowning* *super cute*. " At school, he also proudly tells his teachers and friends that "Its my meimei" pointing to my tummy.

Mommy has also prepared presents for both Wayne and meimei. When I asked Wayne what he would like to buy for meimei, Wayne was really sweet, he said "Momma, I want to buy Hello Kitty for meimei cos hello kitty is pink. Girls like pink" He must have learnt this from Micaela or one of his female schoolmates. Ultra sweet.

So yes, Hello Kitty it was for meimei (though mommy isn't a big fan of this some sort of a cat).

And for Wayne, it was of course Thomas and Friends again.
